COACHING COURSE STRUCTURE
Netball Victoria will continue to offer opportunities for coaches to progress along the Coach
Development Pathway, by conducting courses and activities at each tier of the structure. As in
previous years, Associations/Clubs may apply to host the Foundation and Development
courses within their own environments.
MODIFIED FOUNDATION COACHING COURSE
The Modified Foundation Coaching Course covers basic coaching principles, the teaching and
correcting of Netball and modified Netball skills, and is a great course to attend if you are
interested in becoming a coach.

COACHING COURSE STRUCTURE
INTERMEDIATE COACHING COURSE
The Intermediate Coaching Course is a practically orientated workshop aimed at those who are
coaching players above the age of 14 years at Club, Association, Regional or Zone Academy level.
The course is an excellent introduction into the practical component of the Advanced Coaching
Course. This Accreditation is comprised of two separate courses – the ‘Intermediate Coaching
Course’ and the ‘Intermediate General Coaching Principles Course’. This is an NCAS accredited
course.

PLEASE NOTE: Coaches wishing to participate in the Intermediate Coaching Course must bring
two players to the course with them for the Practical Assessment component only. These players
must be available at the venue from 1.30 – 4.00pm and be a minimum of 15 years of age. Failure
to provide two players for the Practical Assessment will disqualify the coach from being able to
undertake the Practical Assessment component of the course and therefore be ineligible to be
awarded the accreditation.
ADVANCED COACHING COURSE
The Advanced Coaching Course is designed for coaches wanting to further develop their coaching
skills to a level recommended for Regional State League, Victorian Netball League and Victorian
State teams.

COACHING COURSE STRUCTURE
ELITE COACHING COURSE
The new Elite Course is designed for coaches of Victorian Netball League and Victorian state
teams, and is conducted annually by Netball Australia. The course will comprise of a number of
compulsory and optional modules with the practical components delivered in each state and the
theory components delivered either on-line or by correspondence.

HIGH PERFORMANCE COACHING COURSE
The High Performance Coaching course equates to the former Level 3 course, and is conducted
annually by Netball Australia for coaches wanting to reach the pinnacle of coaching. This course
has been modified to reflect the changing requirements of coaching in the high performance
environment.
