SCOPE:
The National Sponsorship Coordinator manages all the sponsorship activities within the country programme.
She/he is the link between SOS Children’s Villages Uganda, International Donor Services, Vienna and
sponsors. The incumbent is responsible for administering, coordinating and supervising the sponsorship
programme, following the regulations, policies and procedures established by the international guidelines and
the SOS International Sponsorship Policy Support Document. She/he ensures that all sponsorship staff are
well trained to perform sponsorship functions, and that the organization’s obligations to its sponsors and
children are fulfilled.

Monitors the quality of correspondence with sponsors and International Donor Services.
Develops an annual work plan and budget for the sponsorship department.
Supervises, motivates, and appraises Sponsorship Assistants.
Provides training and guidance to a team of sponsorship co-workers and other staff involved in
sponsorship activities.
5. Maintains an updated sponsorship online database (Sponsorship Software).
6. Monitors the disbursement of money gifts to the children & young people in line with the stipulated
guidelines.
Minimum Criteria
1. A university degree in Communications, Education (with English double main), Social Sciences or Social
Work & Social Administration from a recognized institution.
2. A Postgraduate Diploma in Project Planning and Management is desirable.
3. At least 5 years’ working experience with an International NGO with two years at senior management
level in a similar or related field shall be an added advantage.
4. Proficient and proven computer skills with strong database management skills are a must.
5. Excellent interpersonal, communications & negotiation skills.
6. Good organisational and record keeping skills.
7. Good photography skills.
