My Polish week
Only good moments this week with my penfriend.
She was really kind and we had the same tastes in music. I can’t wait to see her in October because it
was the funniest week in my entire life.
I’ve met other Polish people, most of them were really funny, I can’t wait to meet them in October!
We’ve learnt some Polish words and they had learnt some French words, it was really fun.
We went to the ice-rink on Saturday, it was really fun she fell!

My Polish penfriend
My favourite moment was when my penfriend wasn’t shy. We played football with my friends and my
brothers, we spoke French or English and he laughed with us.
We spoke a lot when we played Ping-Pong, we spoke about his and my life, family, friends and
favourite films. He played a lot of games with his computer and he played sport, and we had a lot of
things in common. It was a good experience.

What I don’t like in my penfriend
My penfriend had a good accent and she spoke very good English. But I think she was very shy, so the
first day we didn’t speak a lot. On Saturday evening, I decided to meet some friends with their
penfriends; we were together in a room, the Polish students stayed with their friends and the French
people with the other French students. We learned some Polish words and taught them French words.
After this meeting we came back to my house and went to bed. She slept in the same bedroom as me.
The beginning of the week was a little bit difficult because she didn’t speak a lot, and she didn’t like
the same things as me. I think too it was difficult because of her age: she was 18 years old and I’m only
15. I think an 18-year-old person wants to make parties everyday, or things like this.

I’m looking forward to going to Poland….
I’m looking forward to going to Poland because I would like to meet new people and see how the
Polish live. I would like to discover Polish food and take photos of different monuments. But my
penfriend told me that the climate is colder in Poland, and I would like to discover that. Also, she told
me that parties are really different in Poland, because it is not the same music, so I would like to make
parties in Poland. I want to go to Poland to meet the family of my penfriend, and do shopping with her.
My favourite moment
My favourite moment is when we played sports together, Polish and French students. We shared
many good things with other Polis penfriends and we met many kind Polish students.

My Polish week
This experience has brought me only positive things. Natalia, my penfriend, was really good. She was
very interested in many things. She spoke a lot with my parents and me about her activities, her
family, her trip in Paris. She was very nice and funny! She told me that she had loved her trip in France
and that my family was really nice. She wanted to try French food and French cheese! She loves
French cheese: she loves eating too! For me it was a really good experience because I could speak
English everyday during 5 days.
It was not boring, we didn’t see time pass. My penfriend and me think it was a too short trip. She was
17 years old, so she was older than me and mature. She told me about Poland and life in Poland, cities
in Poland… She’s a very good person.

Good and bad moments
During the week, there were bad and good moments. At the beginning, she was tired and shy. She
used her computer or she read but she didn’t speak a lot. She tried to eat all the specialties that we ate
during the week, it was good because she wanted to try new tastes…
Since Wednesday afternoon, when we went to do shopping, we spoke a lot and in the evening, we
played board games like ‘Uno’. We laughed a lot with her and my little brother. On Thursday, we
played again. During the week, I spoke with other penfriends and I became friend with a Polish
student.
When they left, I cried because I was sad, and the other penfriends told me that she missed me and
that she wanted to play basketball with me again when I go to Poland. At this moment, I cried and I
took her in my arms. It was a very good experience for me.

My Polish week
I’m really happy because of the exchange. I was very surprised when I saw that my penfriend had
brought his ukulele and his triangle with him. He was really funny and we were able to pla music, he
played with my bass guitar and I played the drums. We had a lot of fun! We also spoke a lot with ech
other, and it made our English accent better! My penfriend (Pawel) sounded really Polish when he
arrived, and more American on the day of the departure. This week was really cool and I’m really
looking forward to going to Poland.

My experience
It was a very good experience to know my level in English. My penfriend was very nice and we could
speak together. She spoke more like me but I feel more confident now. It was only positive. We played
Ping Pong and other games. I tried to teach her French words because she loves French language. The
Polish language is very difficult because when I tried to say a Polish word, she laughed. I received a lot
of Polish chocolate and my parents were happy. It was a very good experience.

My English
During this week with my penfriend, Ania, I think my English really got better. We had a lot of things
to talk about and we realized that we were one and the same: we liked the same music, the same
clothes, the same everything! Sometimes it was quite difficult to understand each other, but it only
made our English better because we learnt some new words. But she was really good in English so it
was easy to communicate. We tried to talk as much as we could so we could know each other better
and improve our English at the same time.

A cool girl
This week was great and very interesting because I have met a cool girl and I’ve learnt some things
about Poland like for example Polish people finish school at 2 p.m. and they don’t eat at twelve o’clock
like us, they eat at any moment of the day.
On Sunday, we went to the ice rink in Besançon with French students and their penfriends and we
have learnt that the Polish play on ice every winter.
This experience was also tiring and a little bit boring when my penfriend went to surf on the Net and
when she didn’t want to do things with me.
A very good experience
It was a really good experience for me because my penfriend was the same as me. She was a little
crazy and an outgoing girl. She spoke with me since the first evening, she always asked me if she could
help me to cook –for example – and she spoke also with my two brothers, she played video games. We
formed very quickly friendship bonds. When she said goodbye to me, she cried a lot and me too. When
she arrived in Poland she sent me a message where it was written “Louise, thank you so much for
everything, I love you so much, you’re like my little sister? I will never forget you,
perfect, I love her.

What I did during the week with my penfriend
First, when she arrived we went back to my house of course and I presented it to her. Then to create a
first conact, I proposed her to play a game and I explained her the rules. After that we played
basketball with some guests until dinner. At this moment we spoke a lot and we left the table at only
11 p.m. to go to bed.
On Sunday we had breakfast before we went to see a friend play saxophone at a memorial. In the
afternoon, we rode to the forest and along the river. To finish the week end I met some friends with
their penfriends and we spent a good moment together because we could tell each other how our first
day was with our penfriends.
I am very happy of this exchange because I like my penfriend very much, she was very kind and
interested in all the things we did.

My Polish experience
At the beginning of the week, it was quite difficult to communicate, she was a bit shy, me too and she
was tired and I didn’t know what to say sometimes. My mother spoke a lit with her all week long.
But after Wednesday we were getting closer, (but not only with her), thanks to an afternoon at the
swimming pool and a pancake party at Melissa’s home. We laughed a lot in PE too.
Finally I was sad to have to leave the three girls I was closed to. I can’t wait to go to Poland, to see her
again. I found the week too short.
