LISA U12 BC Super Series District Rep. Teams
Girls and Boys
Season 2008/09 U12 players are invited to attend assessments for the BC Super Series
District Rep team. The “Victoria Capitals” play under the auspices of the
BCSA/Whitecaps Super-Y League in highly competitive games and tournaments. The
schedule has been set as follows:
Home vs. Whitecaps Prospects June 13th
Home vs. Surrey FC June 21st
Home vs. Mountain WFC May 24th
Home vs. Coquitlam FC May 16th
Away vs. Whitecaps Prospects TBA
Away vs. Surrey FC May 23rd
Away vs. Mountain WFC May 2nd
Away vs. Coquitlam FC June 20th
The schedule will also incorporate two tournaments.
June 5-7 in Port Moody, BC and June 26-28 Bellingham Baker Blast, Washington USA
Exhibition games have been arranged for the B12 team against the Sheffield Wednesday
Academy team who are visiting from the UK on April 26th (Hampton Park) and 27th (City
Centre field), Langford 4:30 pm.
Coaches:
Girls U12 – Nigel Large, Technical Director CVSA and National ‘B’ licence, LISA District
Development Coach. Assisted by Kristyn Large, Bluefield College, Virginia (soccer
scholarship), USL Super-Y League, All Star ODP and seasons 2006/2007 Metro Captain.
Boys U12 – Nick Gilbert, Capped 13 times for Canada earning his first cap at 19 years old.
Canadian Defender and LISA District Development Coach.
Assessments:
Sunday 22 March 4 pm – 6 pm Pacific Institute for Sports Excellence (PISE)
Sunday 29 March 4pm – 6 pm Pacific Institute for Sports Excellence (PISE)
Fees for the season have been set at $875 to include the following:
League fees, Tournament fees, Permit (BCSA) fees
Hotel Accommodation 2 nights Port Moody and 2 nights Washington
Ferry fares and bus transportation, mainland and USA
Insurance (USA)
Coach’s Honorarium
Training T-Shirt
Game and practice fields
Not included:
Uniforms (there are returning players from last year who will be given priority for numbers)
Personal spending money
Food and water
Fees to be paid as follows:
$75 from assessments
$125 on being accepted to the team
$225 Dated for sometime in April
$225 Dated for sometime in May 1st
$225 Dated for sometime June 1st
Assessment Fees:
Players who have attended either the winter 2008 or Feb/March 2009 Sunday night DDC
sessions will not be charged an assessment fee however they are still required to register online. The full $100 will be applied to their fees or refunded if not selected.
New players attending the assessments are required to pay $100 of which $75 will be applied
to the fees for the season if selected for the team or $75 will be returned if not.
Any player who is selected for a team after attending assessments and then withdraws will
not be refunded. During the programme if a player pulls out they will not receive any
refund. A refund will only be issued in case of injury.
The 2009 summer season is as follows:
Mid-March – Assessments and team selections
April – practices and exhibition games begin
May - League play begins
June – Tournament play begins
Season ends June 28th.
Practices:
Practices are twice a week, once a week on turf and once a week on grass. We alternate
because most tournaments are on grass fields as well as some league games. Players must be
able to compete on both surfaces
Tentatively scheduled are Tuesdays (turf) and Thursdays (grass) 5pm – 6:30pm
