The new millennium started with the challenges of globalization. To meet out these
challenges all organizations are now redesigning their product and service policies.
According to the response of market opportunities MPUAT, Udaipur, started a two years full
time MBA (Agri-Business) programme. In this programme agriculture graduates are well
trained and exposed to the best of the management practices in agribusiness & rural
marketing.
Students
are
also
exposed
to
interaction
with
the
agro-based
companies/industries & regular market visit to gain more & more practical knowledge relating
to rural malls, food retailing agribusiness centers/ agri finance supply chain management and
so on. MBA (Agri-Business) programme was started in the year 2009 in the Department of
Agricultural Economics and Management. The Department of Agricultural Economics came
into existence in 1964. In 2001, the name of the Department was changed to the Department
of Agricultural Economics and Management.

To develop students towards a sense of pride in agri-business profession.
Mission
The mission of the Agri-business program is to promote professionals with managerial
competence for corporate & self-employment sector in areas related to agriculture. The
program will also provide diverse technical services and consultancies to agro-based
industries & other stakeholders.
Objectives
1. To develop the professionals decision making skills & techniques related to agribusiness through training programs.
2. To provide high class education facility to the students so as to equip them for big
careers in agribusiness & rural marketing areas.
3. To assist organizations in solving their management problems by providing
consultancy services.

*A. Project work: (i) Project work will be assigned by the Advisory Committee of the students during semester
– IV (Semester –II of 2nd Year).
(ii) Project report will be prepared and submitted under the supervision of the advisory
committee and will be evaluated by an external examiner at the time of oral presentation.
B. Non Credit Courses- Students will be evaluated in the Non Credit Courses after
completion of the same and their performance judged as satisfactory/unsatisfactory as the
case may be.
