May 12, 2011 2:30 pm – 4:00 pm Session I: Overcoming Liability Concerns of On‐ and Off‐Road Bikeways Speaker: Ed Barsotti, Executive Director of League of Illinois Bicyclists Session Description: Illinois has a unique liability policy that acts as a disincentive for communities to designate on‐road bicycle facilities. However, with some good planning, adding bike lanes and routes to existing roads is very doable.
