The race director will test the working condition and function of the Raceivers. You must have a properly working Raceiver to race. Time limits There will be a 10-minute time limit on all races. If we are running late the race director can change the amount of laps run in the heats or mains so long as he announces it to the handlers before the heats or mains begin. Race Director may change the time limit due to weather or time restraints, at his discretion. There will be a one-minute time limit on warm up laps. Drivers will be allowed to come in the pits during the 1 minute warm up without losing their starting position. If the driver does not make the commitment line before the 1- minute clock expires, then they will start at the rear. Laps *****Amount of laps ran will be as follows: Novice – 15-lap heat and 20 lap mains: Jr. Honda/Animal – 25 lap heat races, 25 lap lower mains and 30 lap A Main All other divisions – 25 lap heat races; 25 lap lower mains and 30 A Main If there are 2 heats, the top 3 cars will go to the A Main and the next 3 to the B Main and so on. This will allow 4 cars to transfer up from the lower mains, with the exception of Jr. Classes, which will only transfer 2. If there are 3 heats the top 2 cars will go to the main and the next to the B Main and so on. This will allow again 4 cars to transfer up from the lower mains, with the exception of Jr. Classes, which will still only transfer 2. If there is more than one heat for Jr. or Sr. Novice, then the drivers who raced in heat one will race the same drivers in Main 1 and the drivers who raced in heat 2 will run in Main 2. We do not transfer cars since Novice is a learning no competitive class. Time Clock The time clock will be started at the initial Green Flag start. The Time clock will be stopped under Red Flag conditions. If the time limit expires under Green Flag conditions: a. The race will end at the next flag, either Checkered Flag or Yellow Flag due to a caution. b. If the Yellow Flag if displayed due to a caution, the cars will be lined up based on QMA scoringorder. (Cars that received a DOT or a Judge’s Call will be placed in their appropriate position.) c. Once the cars are in the correct order, the Checkered Flag will be displayed and the race is officially over. If the time limit expires under a Yellow Flag condition: a. The race will be restarted. b. The race will end at the next flag, either Checkered Flag or Yellow Flag due to a caution. c. If the Yellow Flag if displayed due to a caution, the cars will be lined up based on QMA scoring order. (Cars that received a DOT or a Judge’s Call will be placed in their appropriate position.) d. Once the cars are in the correct order, the Checkered Flag will be displayed and the race is officially over. Scale Procedure You will have 3 attempts to weigh your driver and car after the race. The driver must remain seated in the car. You must NOT leave the scale area. If the correct weight is not made, take the car and driver off the scales and zero out the scales, reweigh and if correct weight is not made, isolate car and driver off to the side with club official (no food or drinks while waiting) and weigh again after the rest of the class has weighed. Only 3 attempts will be given and if weight is still light the driver will receive a DQ for that race. Track Fuel All classes will run 89 octane. Fuel needs to be purchased from the gas station across the street from Little New Smyrna. If your fuel does not test correctly, your driver can be DQ’d from the race. Rain / Cancellation Policy Every attempt will be made to race. Any decisions to cancel the race will be made by the race director. In the event that racing begins and all heat races have not been completed due to a weather cancellation NSQMRA will try to make up the race according to the schedule, and you will keep your original starting positions from the pill draw. Any new racers added at the makeup date will start at the rear. If all heat races have been completed but none of the mains have been completed, points will be awarded based on the results of the heat race for each division. If a division completes its "A" main race the results of that race will count and points will be awarded based on those results. Those divisions in which the mains have not been completed, points will be reverted back to the results of the heat race results. Points / Banquet Policy Only New Smyrna QMRA members will be eligible to receive points. Points are awarded to the competitive divisions only. Novice divisions will not receive points. The point system begins at 30 points to the winner of the AMain Feature event. Each finishing position following the winner will decrease by one point through 10th place (8th for Jr’s ). The system will continue to decrease in points for the B and C feature and so on. All drivers who "attempt to race" in the feature event will receive points EXCEPT for any driver who is disqualified. Junior Honda drivers turning nine (9) during the year will be allowed to move up to Senior Honda at anytime as per the QMA rules. A Jr. Honda driver who will be moving up to Sr. Honda must do so by the first points race following the completion of the Dirt Grands in order to transfer their accumulated points. At any point in the season that a driver moves from Junior to Senior Honda, he/she can only carry over as many points that are equal to one (1) point less then the current third place Sr. Honda driver at the time of move up. At the end of the season the driver who has accumulated the most points will determine a division champion. In the event there is a tie the championship will be determined using the driver’s total number of feature wins, then second place finishes, thirds, and so on until the tie has been broken. Only 80% of the races run will count towards the point's championship. This allows each drive to drop a low-point night or to miss an event if necessary. A driver must race at least 50% of the actual point races ran to receive a trophy and be paid for at the banquet. Any driver that has raced less then 50% will receive an invitation to the banquet, at their expense and a participation award. There must be at least 2 cars in that class to constitute a championship. A driver must race at least 50% of the points races ran in a class to constitute a championship and receive a championship jacket or trophy. All drivers must also be members of NSQMRA.
