Oegstgeest The club The Ajax Cricket and Football Club was founded in Leiden in 1892. Its very first years were devoted only to cricket, for which success came quickly with Ajax becoming the first champions of the Dutch Cricket Association Second Division in 1895, before going on to become national champions in 1897. Football activities began in 1895, with the first success coming four years later, as the club won the second division title and for the first time had a player called up for the national team. The location Much changed for the club during 1917 and 1918. CFC Ajax merged with LAV De Sportman to result in the A.S.C. Oegstgeest football club, while cricket continued to be played under the Ajax name. Both parts moved from Leiden to Oegstgeest and established themselves in Duivenvoordestraat, the location where Park Duivenvoorde will be realised in 2017. Third division A.S.C.
