Make a six-Sided Snowflake

Bible Verse:
“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created
us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good
things He planned for us long ago.”

ou’ve probably heard that no two snowflakes are the same, but have you ever thought
about why you’ll never see a matching pair? The answer can be found by looking at the
way snowflakes form.
Way up in the clouds, when the temperature gets cold enough, water droplets freeze.
When one freezes onto a particle that’s floating around in the sky, an ice crystal forms. As
it falls to the earth, more and more water vapor freezes onto the crystal, which makes . . . a
snowflake.
Imagine what it would be like if you could watch a snowflake’s journey from beginning to
end. Do you think any two snowflakes take the exact same path from the sky to the ground?
Of course not! And that’s why no two snowflakes look the same. The size and shape of each
crystal depends on the temperature and the humidity of the different layers of air that a
snowflake passes through. And to complicate the journey a little more, constantly changing
air currents cause snowflakes to swirl around and around. When each snowflake finally finds
a resting place on the ground, it is unique, unlike any other that has ever fallen.
Just like a snowflake, you are unique, too! There has never been, nor will there ever be
someone just like you! From how you look to how you act, you are one-of-a-kind. And do you
know what makes you . . . YOU? It’s the journey you take through life. From the moment you
were born, your character began to form. With each experience you have and each decision
you make, your character is shaped, and that will continue until the day you take your last
breath. That’s why it’s so important to make decisions that will help you become more like
Jesus, so that your eternal home will be in Heaven with Him.
STEP 2 & 3: To help with the next folds, mark
the center of the paper with a slight crease.
Fold one side of the paper over, and then the
other, to make thirds.
When they are even,
crease the folds well.
This is how it should
look.
STEP 4: Fold the paper in
half one more time to make
sixths. Crease firmly.

All snowflakes have six sides.
On average, snowflakes fall at a speed
of 3.1 mph.
Mt. Rainier, in Washington State, receives more
snowfall than anywhere else in the world.
Unfold your design.
STEP 5: Draw your design on the paper
or cut out a random shape. Be sure not
to cut through the edge marked with
red in the picture above.
