A theme is a type of template that adds visual interest to a
presentation and helps to give it a consistent look, or format.
When selecting a theme, think about what you
want the tone of your presentation to be.

Slide layout refers to how text, graphics,
and other content are arranged on a slide.
Use a slide
layout that
fits the
content you
want to
include.
PowerPoint
has two main
slide layouts—
Title and Title
and Content.
You can apply a layout to a new slide, or change the
layout of a slide you have already created.

A font is the
unique design
of a set of
characters.
Choose fonts
that match the
tone of your
presentation.
The font style refers to effects such as bold, italic, and
underline. To preserve consistency, try not to use too many
different fonts and styles when creating slides.

When using
different
colored fonts,
select colors
that contrast

Light fonts work best on a dark background, while dark fonts

orientation
