Core Purpose:
In consultation with the Head of Corporate Partnerships, manage and develop relationships with
corporate partners to maximise income for Make-A-Wish.
Responsibilities:









Take responsibility for individual corporate accounts and provide excellent day-to-day
account management to corporate partners to develop strong and effective relationships
Ensure corporate partners receive regular and accurate feedback and reports on their
relationship with and support for Make-A-Wish
Attend meetings with corporate partners to ensure the relationship is well-managed and
benefiting both parties and bring to the Head of Corporate’s attention any matters that
require intervention
Seek every opportunity to expand and develop relationships with existing corporate
partners to ensure long term partnerships with increased income
Employ the correct corporate fundraising tools when working with corporate partners to
ensure the best possible outcome (CRM, Charity of the Year, Employee Fundraising,
Payroll Giving, Sponsorship, Recycling, Donations in Kind)
Target, research, propose and negotiate the best possible partnerships in terms of
income for the charity and ensure that the correct legal requirements are implemented
to protect the charity
Work with the Head of Corporate to increase the number of corporate partners by
identifying and researching potential leads and networking with target companies or
sectors
Support the Head of Corporate Partnerships when required by submitting applications
and presentations to potential new corporate supporters
Work with and support as necessary the other Corporate Partnership Managers to
ensure the successful delivery of all corporate partnerships

Work with the wider Fundraising Team and other departments within Make-A-Wish to
keep abreast of all activities and ensure the successful delivery of corporate partnerships
Produce and keep up to date all corporate materials including the corporate section of
the website and provide information regarding corporate partnerships to be included in
the charity’s wider communications including digital marketing
Work with and support International Make-A-Wish affiliates where there is mutual gain
Work with and support when necessary the Community and Volunteering Team,
particularly with regard to small corporates and the implementation of national corporate
partnerships
Ensure that Donorflex and other department records such as excel spread sheets are
kept up to date with all relevant information relating to active corporate partners
Assist the Head of Corporate Partnerships with income and expenditure management
Person Attributes:
Experience, Skills and Knowledge
 Proven corporate fundraising experience
 Track record of income generation and proven experience of achieving targets of over
£250,000
 Experience of developing sustainable growth of a pipeline either in a sales, marketing
or fundraising environment
 Excellent understanding of the corporate sector
 Demonstrable experience of managing high value partnerships
 Knowledge of charity law in the UK
 Degree educated or equivalent or substantial relevant experience
 Strong presentation skills with the ability to negotiate and present ideas clearly
 Proven ability to monitor and forecast income and expenditure, and manage risk
appropriately
 Strong IT skills and database management (experience of Donorflex is desirable)
 Results orientated and commitment to achieving budgets
 Creative/entrepreneurial outlook
 Ability to think strategically

 Experience of writing and delivering partnership account plans
 Experience of internal communications (desirable)
