PTA General Meeting
Date: Monday, June 5, 2017
Location: BSES Media Room
Subject: Monthly General Meeting
Meeting started at 7pm
Erin invited everyone to go and grab something to it and we would continue the meeting while we are
eating.
Quick Updates
Erin Adero
Sound System was approved by the county :)
Popsicles and Playdates will be June 8th. We will have spirit wear, example of Kindergarten School
Supplies, computer so that people could place the order right there and there will be a flyer stating the
open chair positions in case anyone is interested
Principal Hahn
5th Grade SCH went very well and had lots of positive feedback
This week, 1st grade is "camping", 2nd grade is @ the beach, 3rd grade is "cruising". 5th grade closing
starts this Friday
Next Monday is move up day
Tuesday practice for 5th grade closing ceremony
Wednesday Flag Day Ceremony and 5th grade will have Star Wars game with staff and music and
bubbles at departure
All testing is done
Alex lemonade stand is this Saturday June 10th Report Cards are due this Friday for staff.
Donna
June 30th is the end of the physical year. As of today we have a net income of $550.56
Our goal this year was not to dip into the savings.
We have carryover expenses that need to be taken care of before the beginning of next school year.
Donna motions to approve the following carryover expenses
Staff Breakfast which is the first activity of the 2017 - 2018 school year
Scripts for School Play The motion was seconded by Jen Martes. Approved
VP's
Heidi - We will put another flyer for the school supplies in the Friday folders and send information out
thru media
Elizabeth - SOP is done, an example was brought and all the information is online
Committee Chairs
Aaron - restaurant night for Tuesday the 6th has been cancelled
Kate - we have an annual license for movies until May 12 2018. We can show however many movies we
want as long as we don't charge for it (concessions are ok)
Diane - we are ordering the scripts for drama. We are exploring alternatives to video/music as we still
need extra mics and recording for the plays even with the new sound system. We've been using Ed
Grogan but would like to explore other alternatives as well.
Erin moves to approve the May8th 2017 minutes, seconded by Jen Martes. Approved

Erin thanked Harriett Sheridan for all her work with Cheetah Challenge, Communications, Membership
and Spirit Wear
Erin thanked Jen Martes for her various roles in the PTA (VP, Membership, Fall Festival and
Fundraising)

Nominations from the floor were open at 7:44pm. Erin named the candidates

Carla Sjöholm - VP Activities
Aaron Copsey - Treasurer
Secretary - Open
Beth Oglesby indicated that she might be interested in the secretary position but would like more
information
Hearing no more nominations Erin closed the nominations at 7:47pm
