How to Speak Horse
A fun introduction to how horses communicate without words and how we
can use this to understand horse and human behaviour. The session is
designed for pupils of any level of experience, including those who have
limited or no experience with horses. The aim is to ignite an interest in
animal communication and develop self-awareness, as well as have fun with
ponies! No horse required, just wellies and a riding hat if you have one.
Drama Llamas
Improvisation, movement, how to project and vary your voice, how to bring
characters to life on stage, what to do with your arms and legs, and most of
all, how to have fun with acting. Loose, comfortable clothing required.

Session One
Dance musical theatre warm up
Vocal Warm up
Drama school Graduates performance of songs from 'The Witches of
Eastwick ' 'Wicked' and 'Legally Blonde'
Group Work learning the songs that they have just heard. (Each pupil will
receive a pack containing Lyrics and music for each song)
Session Two
Rehearsing the songs started before the break.
Choreography workshop to bring all elements of musical theatre together Acting Singing and Dancing, resulting in a finished product ready for
performance. Please wear relaxed, loose clothing.
Dance Workshop
A fun energetic dance session where both beginners and the experienced are
welcome, the workshop will explore jazz, contemporary, modern and street
style dancing, culminating in a whole group choreographed final piece.

Textile Challenge
Making new creations out of the old! In this challenge, you will be given an
old garment and then the challenge is how to transform it into a piece of
stunning fashion. We supply the garments, you come with the ideas.
Handmade Scrapbooks
Welcome to the wonderful world of sketchbooks and your chance to create
your own inspirational book. Explore the intricate ways to bind, the array of
different page layouts and decorative ways to embellish your pages. Have
fun experimenting and you will never have to buy a sketchbook again!
Art in Motion
Inspired by the artist Angie Lewin, we will be making mobiles from found
natural objects in the landscape. No equipment required.
Maker Space
Bring things along that you want to make, like craft items, or things from
home that you want to try and mend. We will provide basic tools and
enthusiasm for your projects.
Making the Most of Your iPad
We provide the iPads, you come along and find out exactly what you and the
technology of an iPad can do.
Taking Better Photographs
Do you long to take better photos? Practise your technique with Mr Wicks,
looking at setting up a picture, the importance of light, how to capture the
right moment and all the secrets that a great photographer can share. Bring
a camera if you have one or we will provide iPads.
On Location - Photography in the Wild
Make Dorset’s fantastic landscape and wildlife the subject of the camera’s
eye. Bring a camera if you have one or we will provide iPads.
Dragonfly Tea - Short Story Competition
Calling all writers: there are three children’s categories: 4-7 years-old, 8-11
years-old, 12-15 years old. Word limit for all entries is 500 words, not
including the title. There is no minimum length. The entries must be written
on the theme of ‘Maps’. You will need a pen/pencil case for this activity.
Foyle Young Poets of the Year Competition 2017
For poems by writers aged 11-17, this is a national poetry writing
competition which we can enter for free; for our younger members, we are
also running a Knighton House Poetry Competition. You will need a
pen/pencil case for this activity.
Read and Relax
Read or be read to: a chance to wind down with a great book (or other
reading device) at the end of your busy day.
Cookery Skills
Come and practise your basic cookery skills and what could be better than
starting with sweets, cakes and biscuits? If time allows, we will also
experiment with a selection of easy bread recipes. Please bring a pinny if you
have one.
Mexican Cookery for Beginners
Come and learn how to make delicious Mexican food, learn your quesadilla
from your queso blanco and experiment with the wonderful flavours of this
beautiful country.
Water Sports
This will be an off-site visit to The Watersports Academy at Poole Harbour
and a chance to do windsurfing and body-boarding; if time allows, we may
squeeze in a further watersport. Trainers and relaxed clothing required;
wetsuits provided.
Sports Challenge
Take up a sporting challenge; try something new and be surprised at what
you might achieve. Trainers and sports kit required (slightly dependent on
what the Met Office says but we hope it is shorts and t-shirts weather).
Orienteering
Orienteering is an exciting and challenging outdoor sport that exercises
mind and body. The aim is to navigate between control points marked on an
orienteering map. In competitive orienteering the challenge is to complete
the course in the quickest time choosing your own best route.
