THE PROJECT’S GENERAL OBJECTIVE
The LLINK project comes under the Leonardo
programmes for transnational mobility - VETPRO
(Mobility for professionals in the field of education
and professional training) and has the general
objective of:

supporting improvements in quality and innovation in
the systems, institutions and practices for education
and vocational training

OBJECTIVES

Improving the quality and fostering cooperation among institutions or
establishments offering learning opportunities, enterprises, social
parties and other relevant organizations throughout Europe
Implementing the development of innovative practices in the field of
education and vocational training, and also the transfer of such
practices from one participating country to the others
Promoting the development of contents, services, teaching solutions
and innovative practices based on ICT, in the field of lifelong
learning

THE PROJECT’S SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

Sharing
and
updating
the
respective
experiences, competences and methodologies
for distance learning based on e-learning
platforms and digital contents (learning objects),
for the benefit of young and adult learners. We
also wish to explore the possibility of extending
such methodologies to students in penitentiary
institutions.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT’S
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

The week-long visit abroad is aimed at collecting information and
various materials, and also at exchanging first-hand experiences in
the respective schools, in order to build a broader picture of the
situation of e-learning and planning of digital teaching material
(learning objects) throughout the schools involved in the project.

The phase of outgoing visits to the partner countries will be followed
by some elaboration activities including the publication of materials
and telematic discussion carried out through a series of IT tools
which will be activated for the purpose (website, forum)

The project’s activities

The proposed action consists in visits to the European partner
schools in order to compare the respective situations.

The project lasts for 18 months from the date of approval.

The visiting periods agreed on are: from October 2007 to late
February 2008

RELEVANCE OF THE PROJECT

The project becomes particularly relevant within the national
context, in connection to various experimental experiences carried
out in Italy by INDIRE, for the spreading of distance learning
methodologies and technologies, in which the Mazzotti institute
has taken a very active part.

In connection to the Life Long Learning Programme objectives, the
project has a strategic relevance, with regards to the support and
improvement of the quality and innovation in the systems,
institutions and practices for education and vocational training
(including those offered within penitentiary institutions)

Indicating the participants to the project and to the visits abroad,
after adequate selection of the same within their own

Cooperating to the participants’ academic and professional

Profile of the participating teachers




Differentiation of the teachers regarding the taught subjects
(humanities and vocational)
An adequate knowledge of the English language, to be used
as vehicular language at all destinations;
Motivation to cooperate to all the phases of the exchange
project
For every destination, the presence of an English teacher will be
assured, in support of all seminar and research/study activities
which will be carried out during the teachers’ outgoing phase.

Preparation for the teachers involved in
the mobility

Training seminars concerning the teaching and cultural aspects
of e-learning, and the latest technologies for the management of
e-learning environments

Language training Sessions mostly aimed at the specific
technical language of the field.

Activities planned for the mobility week





Discussion seminars on the general theorical issues connected to
 the production of digital teaching contents
 the technological and teaching features of the e-learning
environments which are being used in the partner schools
Visits to IT laboratories, and presentation workshops on the planning
techniques of digital contents in Learning Object format
Meetings with the students using e-learning environments in the
hosting school, so as to evaluate the impact of IT on teaching
methodologies
Possible meeting with companies producing digital contents and elearning platforms
Final discusison meeting to explore the possibility of creating a wider
project of digital content sharing and multi-lingual e-learning platforms

Questionnaires evaluating the experience, to be given out to all
subjects and institutions involved in the programme

Interviews/discussions with the participants

Final reports by every beneficiary teacher

Actions of dissemination of the project’s
results

A digital publication containing the synthesis of the mobility
experience, produced by the participants to the project

The creation of a website, managed through a CMS software
(Content Management System), where all the participants will
contribute to build a constantly updated report of the results
attained in the various parts of the project.

The project team
A project team, coordinated by the Principal, Dr. Anna Durigon, and

In a future perspective, it aims at
investigating

conditions
which can enable a wider
initiative in the course of the next
few years, for the creation of a
repository of digital contents
(Learning Objects) and of a
cooperative
e-learning
environment
for
the
management
of
virtual
classrooms made up of students
from
the
European
schools/institutions involved in
the project.
