Official Rules for the Rienzi Ramble
Scavenger Hunt to be held on
September 20, 2014
on the Rienzi Cemetery grounds

Entry fee is $5/person or $20/4 member team
The first 20 teams in each category, to register,
will
receive a free Rienzi Ramble t-shirt
All participating teams will consist of 4
members
The family team competition will begin at 9 a.m. sharp. MUST be completed hunting by 12:00
noon. At least one member of a family team must be over the age of 18.
The corporate/adult competition will begin at 1 p.m. sharp. Must be completed hunting by 4
p.m. At least 3 adult team members must be 18 years of age.
General Rules
1. Check-in is required before you can begin hunting. At the time of check-in, you must
present proof of registration as well as signed waivers for all team members (for
minors waivers must be signed by their parents or legal guardian.
2. Each team will be given the following items before they begin; a list of rules, a list of
items/information to be found, a bag to hold items, a writing utensil.
3. Each team will be given a list of items, challenges, or riddles that must be found or
completed. The goal is to find all items, or complete all challenges, on the list within
the shortest amount of time.
4. A representative from each team will have the opportunity to tell a story about
something that happened, or something they learned about Rienzi during the day
for a :20 bonus deduction from their team completion time.
5. :20 will be added to your finishing time for asking for help from another group,
finding an item outside of Rienzi Cemetery grounds or obtaining an item illegally.
6. The list can be completed in any order.
7. Your team MUST stay together at all times. You may not split up to divide tasks.
8. All teams must have a digital camera or cell phone for retrieving a visual record of
many items on the list. If we can't figure out what your photo is supposed to be, it
won't count. Make sure each team has contact numbers on that phone in case of an
emergency
9. All Scavenger Hunt photos MUST include at least 3 members on the team.
10. Any photos taken during the hunt may be used for promotional material
11. Team members must be wearing Rienzi Ramble t-shirts during the hunt so they can
be identified as Hunt participants
12. Play Fair … Don’t let your competitive instincts drive you to ruin other people’s
chances to win because if you do-your entire team might be disqualified. This
means no cheating, lying, stealing, sabotaging, or copying other people’s work.
Sabotaging other teams will result in disqualification.
13.Teams must be courteous and respectful to their teammates and all the outside
people involved in the scavenger hunt
14. Rienzi Cemetery is an active, historical cemetery. We are home to around 30,000
graves. These burial sites include family members. For this reason, respect for the
grounds MUST be displayed at all times. Team members MUST stay on the roads as
much as possible. If a judge feels you are using the burial sections as a short cut you
will be warned one time. The second time will be an immediate disqualification. We
appreciate your full cooperation
15. No littering … Always clean up after yourselves and your teammates
16. Your team, in its entirety, must return to the specified location
17. No team members can leave the boundaries of Rienzi Cemetery
18. All decisions by the Judges are final
The entry fee is $5/person or $20/team. Checks should be made out to Rienzi Cemetery. Proceeds for the hunt
will be split evenly between Rienzi Cemetery and the FDL Co. Humane Society. There is a limit of 20 teams in
each category. The first 40 teams (20 in each category) will receive complimentery Rienzi Ramble t-shirts.
Entry forms must be received by Wednesday September 3, 2014.
