Please indicate the nominee's respective strengths and weaknesses in relation to the
individual points.
1. What is your angle on assessing the nomination?
Please explain briefly whether your own research area is similar to/different from that of the
nominee and how well you know him or her (e.g. from publications/conferences/previous
collaboration).
2. How do you rate the significance of the nominee's academic achievements in advancing
the area of research?
a) Please explain whether, and to what extent, you associate the nominee with groundbreaking results, when these results were achieved, and how they have had an enduring
influence on the advancement of the research area. Please also address the nominee's
publication record and especially the key publications: Should the publications be classed
as important routine publications or have they made a decisive contribution to the discipline?
b) How would you rate his/her academic achievements of the last five years and what are your
expectations for future contributions for the advancement of the discipline?

What contributions to the advancement of his/her research area do you expect from the
nominee in future, relating to the status of the research area in Germany and beyond?
4. What is your opinion of the intended research cooperation? (see “Expectations associated
with the award”)
a) Do you share the “Expectations associated with the award” formulated by the nominator?
b) What is your opinion of a possible more intensive cooperation between the nominee and
colleagues in Germany? Do you expect innovative impulses for the research area and its further
internationalisation? Would such a cooperation be academically significant?
c) What benefit to the immediate environment of the cooperation (in particular the host institute)
and beyond it in Germany can be expected from the planned cooperation? To what extent can a
contribution to the further development and internationalisation of the research area in Germany
be facilitated within the immediate and wider environment of the cooperation?
