Introduction: This Assessment Venue Application form must be completed by the National Governing Body seeking to undertake international accreditation at their event (Non-World Event). For an event to be considered by the FIL Officiating Committee the following points must be adhered to. 1. A completed application must be submitted to the Officiating Chair according to the timelines below. New event / venue Previously approved events / venues Application must be received not less than four months prior to the commencement of the proposed event Application must be received not less than three months prior to the commencement of the proposed event. 2. Number of officials assessed at each event To ensure that the level of competition in each rating game provides appropriate challenge for the candidates, the maximum number of candidates allowed per non-world event will be calculated as follows: Number of Games X Length of Game ÷ 120 minutes (Renewal candidate) or 180 minutes (New candidate) N.B. If a mix of Renewal and New are to be tested, 180 minutes shall be required i.e. 16 games x 60 minutes ÷ 180 minutes = 5.33 = 5 New Candidates 3. FIL Assessors a. Must be approved by the FIL Sector Officiating chair in accordance to the FIL International Accreditation Policy, the FIL Off Field Officials Policy and meet the requirements of the FIL Officials Roles and Responsibilities b. Must work solely as an Assessor at the event i.e. not as an umpire or an event coordinator etc. c. Must be assigned to candidates on a 2:1 ratio d. Will assess no more than three games per day, with a minimum 45-minute break between games to allow for completion of oral and written feedback 4. Candidates a. Must be approved by the FIL Sector Officiating chair in accordance to the FIL International Accreditation Policy, the FIL On Field Officials Policy and meet the requirements of the FIL Officials Roles and Responsibilities b. Practical assessment period: i. New Candidates: the assessment will be conducted over no less than three (3) days, must offer the candidate a minimum of three (3) games played to FIL Rules, or the equivalent in game playing time (i.e. minimum 180 minutes), with the candidate being seen on a minimum of one game per day using the three-person system ii. Renewals: the assessment will be conducted over no less than two (2) days, must offer the candidate a minimum of two (2) games played to FIL Rules, or the equivalent in game playing time (i.e. minimum 120 minutes), with the candidate being seen on a minimum of one game per day using the three-person system W O M E N ’ S S E C T O R I N T E R N A T I O N A L A S S E SS M E NT V E N U E A P P L I C AT I O N J u l y 2 0 1 6 |1 This application shall be submitted in accordance to the FIL International Accreditation Policy and completion of: a) Acknowledgement of agreement to the FIL Officials Roles and Responsibilities Policy b) Completion of the FIL On/Off Field Officials Conflict of Interest forms c) For all candidates and assessors, submission of individual officiating resumes/curriculum vitae which focus on activity within the three years prior to the event All documents, once they are collated by the host contact, must be returned to the Women’s Officiating Chair [email protected] Upon submission of this form, the information will be reviewed, after which the individuals/organisers of the accreditation will be advised if the venue has been deemed suitable for assessment. Where the application does not meet an element of the above criteria, the Officiating Chair and Sector Director shall have the discretion to review the application and approve as necessary.
