Family And Child Education Teambuilding can be fun! Teambuilding can be as diverse as the group that participates in it. It can allow your team to re-group, celebrate, do important work, or enjoy each other away from the constant demand of supporting families. Your team can “grow” together simply by spending time together. Some FACE teams have discovered that when they bring their team together for the purpose of just having fun, many of the barriers and common obstacles that exist in a formal setting are set aside. Team members get to know each other and build stronger relationships that create greater trust, respect, and a desire to support one another to be more successful on the job. Examples of “fun time” team building: Celebrating a successful parent group meeting or family event Reaching the team recruitment goal Recognizing the anniversary date of your program Celebrating a successful school year Secret weekly notes to each other – “I Caught You Doing Something Great!” Pamper Ourselves Day The team building sessions can be designed for a few hours to a day. Research shows that when a group takes the time to focus and recognize the success of their group it tends to increase success. Motivation, energy, positive attitude and a more supportive team are natural outcomes.
