Projector Troubleshooting

Problem: My projector will not show my Elmo or PC
-
Ensure that the device you are trying to project from is turned on (with
Elmos the power light will be BLUE when it is turned on).
-
If you are projecting from your PC, ensure that the video cable is
plugged firmly into the back or side of your PC or laptop.
-
Make sure you have the correct device selected on your video switch
(the A&B box).
-
Ensure the device is plugged in firmly to the video switch.
-
Ensure that your PC is set to send video to the projector


If you have a HP laptop you may need to hold down the FN key
(second key from the left on the bottom row) and hit the F4 key
(fifth key from the left on the top row) once or twice.

If you have an Acer laptop you may need to hold down the FN
key and hit the F5 button once or twice.
If you still have issues please contact technical support for resolution.
Problem: My PC does not show on the screen

Ensure your VGA (video) cable is plugged into your laptop securely.

Ensure the projector is turned on.
-
Ensure that the PC button is pushed in on your video switch.
-
Ensure that your PC is set to send video to the projector
-

If you have a HP laptop you may need to hold down the FN key
(second key from the left on the bottom row) and hit the F4 key
(fifth key from the left on the top row) once or twice.

If you have an Acer laptop you may need to hold down the FN
key and hit the F5 button once or twice.
If you still have issues please contact technical support for resolution.

Problem: I have no sound when playing a video from my PC or
DVD/VCR

If playing from your laptop or PC, ensure that the speaker icon in the
bottom right hand corner (by the clock) does not have a red line
through it that looks similar to this:
If you do see the icon above, right click on it, go to Open Volume
Control, and uncheck the Master Volume Mute All box or any boxes
that may be muted.


Make sure if you have a HP laptop that your sound bar (very top right
of your keyboard above the Scroll button) is not muted. (You will see
an amber or orange lit speaker if it is muted)

Ensure that the audio cable is plugged into your laptop, PC, or DVD
player
-
Ensure that your projector is not muted
-
Ensure that the volume is turned up on Windows Media Player if you
are showing a video from your PC/laptop.

If you still have issues please contact technical support for resolution.
Problem: I hear a buzzing when using my Elmo or VHS/DVD Player or
when my projector is on
-
Ensure that your audio cable is securely plugged into the
headphone/speaker jack on your laptop/PC.


If you do not want to plug the audio cable into your
headphone/speaker jack on your laptop while using the Elmo or
VHS/DVD Player, you can also Mute your projector by hitting
the Mute button.
