MIDDLE/HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS: A TYPICAL CLASS TRIP ITINERARY 9:30 Arrival 9:40 Group 1: Inside Tour Group 2: Outdoor Activity 10:30 Group 2: Inside Tour Group 1: Outdoor Activity 11:20 Lunch / Picnic Area 11:45 Bus Departs Introduction and divide students into 2 groups 1: Tour museum and learn about the reforms of the late 1800s‐early 1900s, discussion of the causes and effects of these movements and impact on today’s America. 2: Activity about the social reactions to discrimination and segregation through a game. Afterwards, the students will be introduced to the changes in technology and the influence these advances had on Abolition and Suffrage Movements. 2: Tour museum and learn about the reforms of the late 1800s‐early 1900s, discussion of the causes and effects of these movements and impact on today’s America. 1: Activity about the social reactions to discrimination and segregation through a game. Afterwards, the students will be introduced to the changes in technology and the influence these advances had on Abolition and Suffrage Movements. Primary source readings and discussion as the students enjoy their lunches. Arrive back at school at 12:15 These trips can be customized to meet your needs. Home School groups are also welcome. Cost: $3.00 per student, teachers and chaperones are free of charge within the ratio of 10:1, additional chaperones are subject to the student rate. Pre‐ and Post‐ lessons are available upon request.
