MIDDLE/HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS: A TYPICAL CLASS TRIP ITINERARY 9:30 Arrival 9:40 Group 1: Inside Tour Group 2: Outdoor Activity 10:30 Group 2: Inside Tour Group 1: Outdoor Activity 11:20 Lunch / Picnic Area 11:45 Bus Departs Introduction and divide students into 2 groups 1: Tour museum and learn about the reforms of the late 1800s‐early 1900s, discussion of the causes and effects of these movements and impact on today’s America. 2: Activity about the social reactions to discrimination and segregation through a game. Afterwards, the students will be introduced to the changes in technology and the influence these advances had on Abolition and Suffrage Movements. 2: Tour museum and learn about the reforms of the late 1800s‐early 1900s, discussion of the causes and effects of these movements and impact on today’s America. 1: Activity about the social reactions to discrimination and segregation through a game. Primary source readings and discussion as the students enjoy their lunches. Arrive back at school at 12:15 These trips can be customized to meet your needs. Home School groups are also welcome. Cost: $3.00 per student, teachers and chaperones are free of charge within the ratio of 10:1, additional chaperones are subject to the student rate. Pre‐ and Post‐ lessons are available upon request.
