Kindergarten Field Trip To Kayben Farms– Thursday, June 16th
All Kindergarten students will be visiting Kayben Farms in Okotoks, AB for their yearend field trip. Students will be transported by school bus.
All students participating in this field trip will need to:
-Wear appropriate shoes and socks; sturdy, water-resistant footwear
suggested
-Dress appropriately for the weather – wear or bring along rain jacket/jacket
with hood
-Bring their backpack with: filled water bottle, snack and a nonmicrowavable lunch
-Return the signed permission form along with the $17.00 fee

Students leave SHA by bus
Arrive at Kayben Farms
Washroom break
Sort into groups
Insect Tour – Kayden Farms staff will provide a guided tour of insects in
a natural wooded area; students will see and learn about bugs in their
world
Washroom & lunch
Exploration time– Please use this time to tour around Kayben Farms –
visit the animals, play at the Sunshine Adventure Park, etc.
Use the washroom and meet teacher at bus to leave by 1:45pm
Students arrive at SHA for regular dismissal

 All K parents are invited to join us for this exciting day at your own transportation.
 There is no entrance fee for parents/guardians to attend.
 Please take the enclosed “Criminal Record Check” request form to your local RCMP
detachment. If you have already submitted one the past 3 school years you do not need a
new one. Please check with Mrs. Clark at our office for information about your Criminal
Record Check on file.
 If you are not able to attend, you child will be supervised by a teacher or another parent
volunteer.

WHO WISHES TO PARTICIPATE
ELEMENTS OF RISK:
Safety considerations such as appropriate teacher and parent supervision and qualified bus drivers are in place
for the Kayben Farms field trip. Educational activities in this field trip, such as traveling by bus and
completing a walking tour of the Kayben Farms grounds and other activities involve certain elements of risk.
Injuries may occur while participating in these activities. The following list includes, but is not limited to,
examples of the types of injury which may result from participating in this field trip:


Sunburn
Vehicle accident


Insect bites
Injuries

Vehicle breakdown
The risk of sustaining these types of injuries result from the nature of the activity and can occur without fault
of either the student, or the school board, its’ employees/agents or the facility where the activity is taking
place. By choosing to take part in this activity, you are accepting the inherent risks. The chance of an injury
occurring can be reduced by carefully following instruction at all times while engaged in the activity. Christ the
Redeemer Catholic Schools does not provide accidental death, disability or dismemberment or medical
expense insurance on behalf of the student participating in this activity.
