Memorandum of Understanding
With Eligible Participating Teachers
This document serves as verification that I have been provided with information about the Lawndale-LennoxHawthorne-Centinela Valley Induction Program. I have engaged in an entrance interview with the District Director
of the Induction Program and agree to the following:

I agree to participate in the Lawndale-Lennox-Hawthorne-Centinela Valley BTSA Induction Program and
complete the on-line consent form.
Participation in the Lawndale-Lennox-Hawthorne-Centinela Valley BTSA Induction Program includes the
following activities that are requirements for obtaining my Professional credential:
 Weekly meeting(s) with a Support Provider
 Using the Formative Assessment for California Teachers (FACT) to accumulate evidence of professional
growth in relation to the following:
 The California Standards for the Teaching Profession (CSTP)
 An Individual Induction Plan (IIP)
 Creation of a Portfolio to be submitted to the BTSA Induction Exit Committee at the end of my second
year in the Program documenting completion of Induction requirements for the Professional Clear
Credential.
 Participation in Professional Development activities, which includes monthly Participating Teacher
meetings and individual advice and assistance meetings with District Program Director to monitor
progress as well as District-sponsored workshops as needed to meet requirements for Induction Program
Standards.

The BTSA Induction Program will provide to me:
 Supportive, expert assistance and confidential help from Support Providers and District Program Directors.
 Professional Development opportunities and activities designed specifically to meet requirements for the
Professional Clear Credential.
 Opportunities for networking with other Participating Teachers.

I agree to request special assistance to complete program requirements if needed.
I understand that I am expected to complete the requirements for the program during my initial two years of
teaching. I also understand that I may request an extension for more time to complete the requirements for the
clear credential. I further understand that all the evidence I collect while in the Lawndale-Lennox-HawthorneCentinela Valley BTSA Induction Program is fully transferable to any other BTSA Induction Program in the
State of California.
I understand that participation in the BTSA Induction Program is a condition of my employment and that failure
to fulfill the requirements of an Induction Program may be cause for termination.
Recommendation for the Professional Clear Credential does not guarantee continued employment.

I decline enrollment in the Lawndale-Lennox-Hawthorne BTSA Induction Program for the Professional
Credential. I absolve the District from any responsibility of providing me with an Induction program that
leads to the Professional Credential and I will enroll in a California Commission on Teacher Credentialing
(CCTC) approved program and provide proof of enrollment to the District Program Director within 120
days.
