PERSONAL INFORMATION TRAINING AND QUALIFICATON Name Debora Nozza E-mail [email protected] Since December 2014 I am a PhD student in Computer Science at University of Milano-Bicocca. My research topics are Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Deep Learning and Sentiment Analysis. In July 2014, I obtained a Master’s Degree in Computer Science at the University of MilanoBicocca with the grade of 110/110 cum laude. I personally scheduled my courses focusing on Data Analytics, Machine Learning and Data Mining. The study period ended with the writing and discussion of the final thesis titled "Learning representation for Sentiment Classification", performed at the Laboratoire d'Informatique de Paris 6 (University Pierre and Marie Curie) in Paris. In November 2011, I earned a three year university degree in Computer Science at the University of Milano-Bicocca with the final grade of 102/110. I followed the three year course “Methods and Models for Application – Finance and Management”, the title of my thesis was “Experimenting techniques of constrained inference for Information Extraction”. In 2008 I gained a chartered accountant qualification in the field of Programming at “Istituto tecnico commerciale statale E. Tosi” (Busto Arsizio -Italy) with the grade of 75/100. GRANT In 2013, I received two scholarship provided by the University of Milano-Bicocca for a research period at the research laboratory LIP6 of Paris (France): one for the program “Erasmus Placement” and one for the program “EXTRA plus international mobility” (with the contribution of Assolombardo and co-financed by “Fondazione Cariplo”). SKILLS AND ABILITIES LANGUAGE Flexibility and good spirit of adaptation; fluency, ability to communicate and coordinate; good disposition at team working and experiencing new situations. ITALIAN: perfect knowledge and ownership in written and spoken language ENGLISH: good knowledge and ownership in written and spoken language In 2006 I obtained the certification “Preliminary English Test” - B1 level FRENCH: good knowledge in written and spoken language GERMAN: school level Curriculum Vitae di Debora Nozza Pag. 1/3 IT SKILLS Perfect knowledge of Office programs. Base knowledge of programming languages and software: Pascal, Visual Basic, Lisp, Prolog, R, SQL, Weka, Knime, C++. Advanced knowledge of Python, JAVA, Matlab. I completed with distinction two MOOC courses, issued by Coursera, of Computing for Data Analysis and Statistical Inference of the Johns Hopkins University. PERSONAL EXPERIENCE SPORT ACTIVITY I have been playing volleyball for several years in many different teams (among them Yamamay Busto Arsizio), also joining B2 and C league championship. When I was younger I had the opportunity to take part in a volleyball international tournament with my team for three consecutive years. OTHER COURSES In 2010 I followed a 7 lessons medical aid course c/o Red Cross in Gallarate (Varese, Italy) PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE The internship period of 6 months, aimed at the development and elaboration of my thesis project, was performed at the Laboratoire d'Informatique de Paris 6 (University Pierre and Marie Curie) in Paris. The research was aimed at identifying and extracting subjective information from unstructured data, a process known as Sentiment Analysis. In particular, different representation models were analysed for taking into account the possible relationships between users and contents generated by them (social networks). To achieve these goals, I have developed a new model, consequently implemented and tested through the programming language Java and Python, under the coordination of Professor Enza Messina and Professor Patrick Gallinari. During this experience I have improved my ability to work in autonomy, fluency in different languages (French and especially English) and adaptability. As a conclusion of the studies for the bachelor’s degree, I attended a research internship at “Università degli Studi di Milano Bicocca”. During the internship activity, I took part in a research project, whose aim was the development and implementation of a JAVA program, coordinated by Professor Enza Messina, supervisor of the course “Computational Methods”, and Elisabetta Fersini. The same subject has been investigated also in my thesis entitled “Experimenting techniques of constrained inference for Information Extraction”. The research activity lasted 3 months and in that period I worked in a laboratory cooperating and interacting with a working team and at the same time I directly related to my coordinator. The experience ended creating a presentation of the achieved scores, which has been presented during meetings with my project team. PUBLICATIONS D. Nozza, E. Fersini, E.
