Netball Competitions Minimum Operating Standards 2017-18 Season These minimum operating standards should be used as a checklist when determining the level at which a college wishes to play and will. Once a college has determined the level at which they wish to compete they will be expected to adhere to all the required operating standards. Netball Premier League (Category 1) Parking Playing Area Refreshments Changing facilities (Players) Parking should be available on or adjacent to the ground Games should preferably be played indoors on courts of the appropriate size and without the obstruction of overhanging basketball backboards. Safe outdoor courts may be with prior agreement of the visiting team. Posts must be inserted in the ground and padded. It is not acceptable to use free standing posts with weights Refreshment facilities should be provided at the ground, college or the clubhouse unless the travel time to the fixture is less than 90 minutes. Refreshments must be made available free of charge, post-match to the players and coaching staff of both teams as well as the officials and guests of the visiting team Refreshments should meet the postmatch dietary needs of the players and, on request, should cater for any special dietary needs. Some form of drink should be provided. Separate, secure and well maintained dressing rooms must be provided for both teams, comprising of: A shower area 1 wash hand basin located outside the shower area. At least 1 WC in a cubicle Netball Leagues Appropriate parking should be provided Games should preferably be played indoors on courts of the appropriate size or on safe outdoor courts with prior agreement of the visiting team. Refreshment facilities, allowing for a minimum of a drink, must be accessible at or very close to the ground, college or the clubhouse. In the Knockout Cup completion suitable refreshments must be provided where the travel time to the match exceeds 90 minutes and for all quarter finals and semi finals Appropriate, separate dressing rooms must be provided for both teams Shared shower facilities are permissible Changing facilities (Match Officials) Standard of Officials Team Staffing Medical Educational Model Player Registration Protocol Match officials should have access to their own separate, secure and well maintained (and separate for male & female) changing facilities with access to their own showers and WC cubicle. 2 grade umpires must be provided, one must be at least grade B and the other at least an active grade C umpire The home team must provide a scorer who cannot be a player. Adequate changing facilities must be provided. Minimum of 2 staff on match days, including the first aider Head Coach to be England Netball Level 2 There must be a responsible adult in attendance with first aid qualification. This should not be the Head Coach A first aid policy should be in place All players must be over the age of 16 and under the age of 21 at midnight on 31 August in the academic year of participation All players must be on a full time study programme of a minimum of 450 hours per year. The number of matches played by each player must be tracked to prevent overplay All players must be registered prior to playing in the AoC Sport netball competitions Match day detail to be provided by the home team at least 7 days in advance of the fixture (name and post code of ground, directions, start time, colours) The home team should arrange for two umpires, which could be one qualified umpire from each team. Where a member of staff acts as an umpire they may only participate in coaching duties during the interval. Minimum of 2 staff on match days, one can be a volunteer. There must be a suitable qualified person in attendance. All clubs must provide first aid equipment at their ground. Players must be studying a minimum of 280 hours at the college they represent. Players must be over the age of 16 and under the age of 21 at 31 August in the academic year of participation. All players must be registered prior to playing in the AoC Sport netball competitions Match day detail to be provided by the home team at least 7 days in advance of the fixture (name and post code of ground, directions, start time, colours) Administration Quality Standards Non-compulsory standards The home team must provide a match day delegate to welcome and assist the away team The home team must upload the result of the match to Fixtures Live within 48 hours of the conclusion of the match A team sheet for each match must be completed and a copy sent to AoC Sport within 2 days of the match An administrator must be identified for each team who will be the first point of contact for AoC Sport A minimum of 2 high quality match balls must be provided A minimum of 2 match balls must be provided Player analysis should form part of the programme Matches should be filmed Provision should be made for the away team to film matches Other students to be used as volunteers to support areas such as filming, social media, provision of refreshments, and administration Players should be encouraged to maintain a diary to record the number of matches played for college and club, injuries sustained and personal targets The provision of a member of staff or student to meet and greet the visiting team The home team must upload the result of the match to Fixtures Live within 48 hours of the conclusion of the match A team sheet for each match must be completed and retained for inspection by to AoC Sport if requested
