eginning Jan, 24 Iowa Lottery players will have
a brand new lotto game to play: Lucky for
Life®! The first drawing Iowa will participate in is
Jan. 25.

Lucky for Life is a multi-state lotto
game that costs $2 per play
•
Players choose 5 out of 48
numbers for the white balls; then
choose 1 out of 18 numbers for
the Lucky Ball
•
Players may use a play slip to
choose their own numbers or
request an “easy pick” from the
clerk and the lotto terminal will
choose the numbers for them.
They can play more than one
drawing by marking the “multidraw” box on the play slip for
2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8 or 10 consecutive
drawings

Drawings are held at
approximately 9:38 p.m. Central
Time on Mondays and Thursdays
•
Tickets may be purchased until
8:30 p.m. on the evening of the
drawing
When players choose THE GAME OF A LIFETIME®, luck seems to find them. And this
is a different kind of luck - it lasts a LIFETIME. If a player wins one of the top two prizes,
the prize sticks around as long as they’re around.
Players win the top prize of $1,000 a day for LIFE by matching all 5 white numbers and
the Lucky Ball. The game’s second prize – for matching all five white balls without the
Lucky Ball – is $25,000 a year for LIFE. And there are eight other ways to win, including a
$4 prize for matching just the Lucky Ball. See the odds chart below.
Our online vendor, Scientific Games, began distributing play slips to retail locations on
Jan. 4.
Lucky for Life started on March 11, 2012, when
six New England lotteries joined together to offer
their players a new opportunity to win a top prize
of $1,000 a day for LIFE. Tickets went on sale
back then in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts,
New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont.
The game has been enhanced over the years and
Iowa is the 18th lottery in the U.S. to sell the
game.
