AUGUST 2015 MORNING TIME As you wake your preschooler every day throughout this month, kiss their cheeks and their nose and tell them how thankful you are that God made them and that God loves them. CAR TIME Your child has been learning three very important basic truths this month: God made me, God loves me, and Jesus wants to be my friend forever. Each time you get into the car this month, encourage your child to look in the rearview mirror before getting into her seat and say, “God made me!” Each time you buckle your child into her seat ask her, “Who loves you?” and encourage her to say, “God loves me!” And each time you help your child hop down out of the car, say together, “Jesus wants to be my friend forever!” BATH TIME Bath crayons are super fun. Use some this week so your child can practice drawing hearts. When your child draws three hearts, count them together and say, “One, two three! God loves me!” © 2015 Orange. We’ve been talking a lot about how Jesus wants to be our friend forever. Thank You so much for sending Jesus to be our friend. He’s the best! We love You, God. In Jesus name, amen.” PLAY TIME Have you ever gone outside and given a child sidewalk chalk and a spray bottle filled with water? Oh, the things they can make! Try this sometime this week. Let your child create and discover. (One of my favorites is chalk scribble + water + little hands = precious handprints) Your sidewalk or driveway will be a work of art until the next rain shower comes. As your child lets his imagination run wild, talk about how God made us, God loves us, and Jesus wants to be our friend forever!
