League Rules
2017 Season
1. Matches will consist of 4 singles games of 501, 2 pair’s games of 601 and a four-a-side of 1001. The foura-side is one leg only.
2. Each game is worth 1 point to give a total of 7 points.
3. Monday night is darts night-toe the oche 8.30pm prompt.
4. Any player arriving after 8.30pm will not be allowed to play. Home team to put their names on the board
first for the 4 a side game, in the pairs (the names of each pair is to be placed in the hat) and singles
names are drawn from a ‘hat’. In the event of two players having the same initials full names are to be
used to distinguish players.
5. A team can decide to play with only 3 registered players; this will only be allowed once per half of the
season.
6. A player can only play once during the two pairs, once during the four singles and once during the four-aside. Changes can be made from the four players who took part in the pairs but replacements can only
be drawn from those players who arrive before 8.30pm. This rule applies whichever game is played first.
(The order of play is the choice of the home team). Provided they have not signed for played for another
side a new player can be signed up on the night. Text the player to the communications officer.
7. Both teams to send their result by text message to 07960 994 009 within 24 hours of the game being
played.
8. Any team postponing a match will forfeit 2 points from their total number of points.
9. A team shall give 24 hours notice of a postponement of a match to both the opposing team and the
League Secretary.
10. Teams will be allowed to rearrange a postponed fixture. The team who did not postpone the match must
offer their opponents two dates to replay the match. If teams cannot rearrange a postponed fixture by
mutual agreements then the committee will fix a date for the match to be played. It is the duty of both
captains (or their representative[s]) to inform the league secretary of the date of the re-arranged
fixture. All points must be played for. If a team fails to complete its fixtures by not turning up to a rearranged fixture then all the points from all the matches involving that team will be removed from the
league tables for that half of the season. This also applies if a team drops out of the league.
11. Any team failing to turn up to own home fixture must play the rearranged match at their opponents
venue. This rule will only be implemented if rule 9 is disregarded.
12. All matches/tournaments are to be played with a minimum throw of 7’ 9 ¼ inches. This mark must be
clearly indicated. The height of the board must be 5th 8in. to the centre of the bull; Diagonal from
centre of bull to the oche must be 9’ 7 ½ inches.
13. The checker is in sole charge of the game. The checker’s decision is final. A player not throwing from the
official distance is to be warned after the first offence subsequent encroachment will result in “no
throw” being called.
14. Any protest must be made within 7 days of the event accompanied by a £2.00 fee. If the protest is
upheld the fee will be returned. If the protest is not upheld the £2.00 fee will be absorbed into the
league funds. All protests must be sent to the league secretary.
15. Teams must make every effort to attend an end of season meeting
16. Entrance fees of £25.00 per team only. No individual fees are payable.
17. A player has a 3 game window at the start of a new season to decide which team they will play for, when
a team submits their player’s names at the tournaments paying in night then these players are
committed to that team for the rest of the season. A season ban from the league will be imposed if this
rule is broken. Any match involving a player who has broken this rule will have to be re-played. No points
or 180’s won or hit during the first match will count towards league totals.
18. Registration fees must be paid in full on paying-in night. A team not adhering to this rule may be
excluded from the fixture list.
19. All trophies/prizes must be collected on presentation night.
20. All players hitting a 180 will receive a trophy for the first time; the player hitting the highest number of
180’s in each section will also receive a trophy. The person hitting the highest out in each section will
receive a trophy.
21. All cups are the property of the league. Damaged or misplaced cups must be repaired/replaced by the
offending team.
22. The final position of teams with the same points will be decided first by the number of wins they have,
second by their result against each other and if they cannot be separated by these means then they will
have to play off against each other
23. To ensure the smooth running of the league the committee’s decision is final on all matters.
24. All league players must be 16 or over. Under 18’s play at the Landlord’s discretion. Any player under 18
must seek the landlord’s approval.
25. Who is to throw first will be decided by “Nearest The Bull” Thrown by the away team first. If in the
eventuality of a “Bounce Out” The player will be allowed to throw another dart.
26. A player can only play for the Monday Night Dart League on a Monday night.

In all tournaments only the players recorded on the official registration from will be allowed to play.
This rule will be strictly adhered to. Teams must write their full names on the registration sheet.
Tournaments are only open to league players.
Pairs and Fours can only be drawn from the same team (not the same pub or club)
In the pairs and fours competitions teams can nominate a “floater” who can play for any Pairs/Fours
team. Once used in a tournament that floater cannot be used again by any other pair or four. The
nominated floater must appear on the Tournament Registration sheet and £1.50 paid. Only 1 floater
can be nominated for each Fours / Pairs.
The draw for all tournaments will take place at 8.20pm players/teams must be registered with the
board organiser before 8.15pm. Any player(s) arriving after 8.30pm will not be allowed to play. There
will be no exceptions from this rule. First game starts at 8.30pm.
All tournament winners are to notify the tournament secretary in writing (text or e-mail) within 48
hours. Failure to do so may result in expulsion from the tournament.
Tournament matches consist of Fours – 801, Pairs – 601 and Singles 501 best of 3 legs.
