Job Description Job Title: Investment and Research Intern – 6 month fixed term contract. Salary: £14,140 Location: The Capital Building, Old Hall St, Liverpool L3 9PP Main Purpose of the Job To carry out research to inform Liverpool Vision’s Business Planning and Investment strategy. To provide support to potential investors and support event management and investor visits. Directly Responsible To: Investment Manager Main Areas of Responsibility: Provide accurate and relevant research and intelligence to Invest Liverpool team to inform strategy and provide analysis to assist in encouraging high levels of inward investment for the benefit of the local economy and community; Manage and update Liverpool Vision’s Performance Management Tracker and provide analysis as required to the Invest Liverpool and Place Marketing teams; Maintain a database of facts and statistics to ensure an accurate and consistent reporting of facts and statistics in Liverpool Vision’s marketing material, reviewing and updating material accordingly; Ensure that Liverpool Vision complies with up to date Data Protection protocols, ensuring that a review of all data sources owned by the company is undertaken at least annually; Review, research and respond to any Liverpool Vision FOI requests, involving appropriate key personnel as required; Co-ordinate and produce ad-hoc Corporate reports as required; Manage the reporting and analysis of the inward investment pipeline for both the Liverpool City Region and Department of International Trade; Assist with the organisation and support of investment related events and visits; Any other duties commensurate with the level of the post which Liverpool Vision might from time to time assign. Core Skills, Knowledge and Experience Required: Market research skills; A good understanding of the available sources of intelligence, both formal and informal; An understanding of the Liverpool offer in terms of local assets and investment opportunities; A working knowledge of the structure and key players in Liverpool City Council, Liverpool Chamber of Commerce and the Liverpool City Region LEP is desirable; An understanding of national and international trends and opportunities and how these opportunities can be maximised; A working knowledge of the inward investment process; High level analytical skills including the ability to draw key messages from complex information, quickly and accurately, including statistical data; Strong communication skills, verbal and written; in particular, the ability to produce easy to understand written material using a variety of formal and informal sources, some of which involve complex data; The ability to prioritise and manage a busy and varied workload, frequently involving responding quickly to new issues emerging at short notice; Strong IT skills; proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, CRM systems and the internet; Ability to work on own initiative, including capability to identify and assess new opportunities for the function to fulfil its purpose more effectively; Strong interpersonal skills; the ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues, partners and clients.
