homework by looking for your name in the top right
hand corner.

 When you see me do jazz hands, stop what you are
doing, be quiet and join in the jazz hand fun.

 Use the bathroom before class during knight time.
 We will normally have a break in middle of class if you
need to go.
 If you need to go any other time, please raise your
hand, request to go, then place your bingo card in the
appropriate slot.

 If you need a pencil or pen, please take one from the
pencil holder and return quickly and quietly to your
seat.

 Place your phone in the phone bucket at the beginning
of class. Pick it up as you leave class.

 If you need a tissue, please come up and get several, so
you don’t have to make repeated trips.
 Use the hand sanitizer.
 Wait until class is over to throw your tissues away.

 Please bring a water bottle to class to eliminate having
to go to the bubbler.
 Make sure it’s sufficiently filled prior to class.

 Class will be a combination of lectures, white
boarding, demonstrations, labs and assessments.
 Take notes during lecture. I recommend loose leaf
paper, but a notebook would work as well.

 We will frequently do problems on individual white
boards
 You will be asked to share your work periodically

 You will be selected to share either by your bingo
number or letter, the sharing ball, or just going in
order by seat

 We will be using a textbook to supplement the
material learned in class
 You will be assigned reading almost every night

 Homework will be given almost daily
 Please put a heading on your homework as specified
below
 Homework will be a formative assessment, meaning
you will have an opportunity to correct it
 When correcting homework, to receive full credit you
must identify your original mistake

 If you know you will be absent in advance, please see
me before leaving about the work you will miss.
 If you are absent unexpectedly, you will be given one
day for each day missed to complete missing work
 You will be able to access daily plans on the website

 In case of a fire alarm, please line up in alphabetical
order and walk out single file in silence
 Exit the door, turn left, walk to the end of the hall, turn
right, walk down the stairs, turn right twice and exit
out door #2

 In case of a medical emergency
one person will be in charge of calling 911, with a
backup
 one person will be in charge of alerting the office, with
a backup
 if necessary, one person will be in charge of getting
the AED, with a backup
