3. Club kit and equipment
All players should now have their club shirts for the season. Please remember
that parents are to supply football boots, black shorts, orange socks. Shin
pads must also be worn for all games and practice sessions.
To prolong the life of the club shirts, once the season starts they are ONLY to
be worn for the weekend Saturday game. Not for practice and not for School!.

5. FIFA Under 20 World Cup
The FIFA U20 World Cup will start in New Zealand on Tuesday 26 May, with the first local games being the
double header in Dunedin on Sunday 31 May. There are some very cheap ticket deals available - some tickets
are only $10 a game. Dunedin’s Games are:
31 May – Mexico vs Mali AND Uruguay vs Serbia (double header)
3 June – Mexico vs Uruguay AND Serbia vs Mali (double header)
6 June – Colombia vs Portugal AND Serbia vs Mexico (double header)
10 June – Round of 16 game
Dunedin has got arguably the best draw of all Host Cities. This is the biggest tournament New Zealand will
ever see and some of the players coming to Dunedin will be European football superstars in the coming years.
Throughout the duration of the games in Dunedin, the Octagon will have a ‘Fever Pitch’ zone set up, with lots of
activities for kids and will be the place to be prior to each game. Games, Face Painting, Merchandise, etc. The
teams from around the world will be visiting Dunedin Schools, Clubs, and even running coaching sessions with
kids.
A new ticket booking option is now available called ‘Invite a Friend’ - and allows one person to go online,
reserve up to 20 seats, pay for their seat/s, and then send the electronic booking invite through to other friends
allowing them to click on the link and pay for their ticket within the reserved allocation. Seats will be reserved for
five days. This is a great way to purchase as a team without someone having to be responsible for collecting
money. Plus everyone gets to sit together at the games !. Speak to your coach and see if this booking option
would work for your team. Invite a Friend - http://tickets.fifanz2015.com/individual-matches
Everybody who is involved in Football in Dunedin needs to get behind this tournament to make it a success.
6. Junior Football. Some perspective.

Please support the players. Just remember they are children not adults. They cannot replicate the adult
game and they will make mistakes, lots of them.
Please support your coach – Just remember the teams are not possible without them, and they need the
support from every parent.
Please support the Referee – the game is not possible without them, and they need the support from
every parent. Just remember this is junior football in Dunedin, not the English Premier League. The
Referees will make mistakes.
Parents and Supporters, try not to get carried away with thinking about junior football as being about winning at
all costs and picking up trophies and awards, this photo is exactly what junior football should be about …
Thank you for supporting your local Junior Football Club …
