A-Team Match Report
Unfortunately, we didn’t have a first game, so we supported the B-Team. Watching them battle hard
made us determined for our game against last season’s winners Little Hoole. We were all nervous
but when the whistle blew the nerves settled.
Our only game started off well and scored within 15 seconds; Owen had just started with an amazing
goal, the ball reaching for the top-right corner. A great finish.
For our second goal Max whipped the ball into Finlay who sliced it past the Keeper and perfectly
aimed. We had our hopes high to get ourselves eight points clear in the league table and to win the
game. Still in the first half; Little Hoole had their first effort at 4:0. Clearing around the post, Sam had
to dive for the ball but the shot went wide. New Longton were dominating the pitch.
At 5-0, Little Hoole made a dirty tackle and we got a penalty. It was easily finished by Finlay, putting
the ball in the back of the net to make us 6 goals up. Constant goals going in the back of Little
Hoole’s net, Owen gained us another penalty. You wouldn’t believe, it was an easy goal. We weren’t
going to lose. In the second half we were at 7-0 – two penalties, easy win. The game hadn’t finished
though.
Little Hoole came back after their failures, they got lucky. One of the twins took it straight out of
Sam’s hands and booted it in the net. The ref wasn’t even looking.
Nothing was more exciting than the finishing whistle at the end. Well done Eve and all the lads. You
played well. Final score 10-1 to us.

B-Team Match Report
New Longton V St. Oswalds
Our first game was against St. Oswalds. They took the first centre kick . The pitch was super boggy
and it was causing problems to run and pass effectively. We soon figured it out and had some great
opportunities. St Oswalds were given a corner, the ball was kicked in and a goal was scored. It was 10 to them. We knew we had to fight back and that is what we did. In the second half we had more
success. Freya, Zach and Isaac made some great passes, Charlie received the ball and fought his way
through 2 players. It became a mud slide and all three players fell over. Charlie jumped up quick and
scored a goal. We carried on determined but the final score was 2-1 to St. Oswalds.
New Longton V St. Gerrards
It started off as a mud slide again. The ball was being passed around really well and we had some
great opportunities. The colour of our kit was starting to lose its colour. St Gerrad’s scored the first
goal. We had plenty of energy left, Freya made some great runs down the wing, Isaac played the ball
into the centre creating opportunities to score. We finally scored with an assit from Charlie and a
finish from Isaac. Zach D and Zak R were really strong in defence making some great blocks. Charlie
scored making it 2-1 but St Gerrards came back and made it 2-2. The final whistle blew – well done
team!
