California Adventure 2nd Chance Promotion
PROMOTION AND DRAW QUESTIONS
Q: What is the California Adventure 2nd Chance Promotion?
A: The California Adventure 2nd Chance Promotion is an extended promotion that spans six (6)
months, from January 2017 through to June 2017. This promotion offers additional
opportunities to win special prizes and is for all registered 2nd Chance players who submit
eligible, non-winning $1, $2, $3 and $5 Scratchers® and all eligible SuperLotto Plus® 2nd
Chance codes. Players can manually submit each eligible, non-winning code at Scratchers
2nd Chance, SuperLotto Plus 2nd Chance, or by scanning each eligible, non-winning barcode
using the California Lottery Official Mobile App for a chance to win.
Q: How do players enter the California Adventure 2nd Chance Promotion?
A: To enter the promotion, players must log into their existing 2nd Chance account or create a
new account at CA Lottery. During the promotion period, players can submit their eligible,
non-winning $1, $2, $3 and $5 Scratchers and all eligible SuperLotto Plus 2nd Chance codes.
There will be separate monthly and Grand Prize drawings for Scratchers and all eligible
SuperLotto Plus tickets. Players who submit Scratchers 2nd Chance codes are only eligible
for the Scratchers drawings and players who submit SuperLotto Plus 2nd Chance codes are
only eligible for the SuperLotto Plus drawings.
Q: When does California Adventure 2nd Chance Promotion begin and end?
A: The California Adventure 2nd Chance Promotion will begin on January 1, 2017 at 12:00 am
and will run through June 30, 2017 at 11:59 pm. Each monthly promotion period will run
according to the following schedule:






Sun. January 1 – Tues. January 31, 2017
Wed. February 1 – Tues. February 28, 2017
Wed. March 1 – Fri. March 31, 2017
Sat. April 1 – Sun. April 30, 2017
Mon. May 1 – Wed. May 31, 2017
Thurs. June 1 – Fri. June 30, 2017
Q: Are 2nd Chance codes entered in one promotional month eligible for drawings in the
following promotional months?
A: No. 2nd Chance codes are only eligible in the promotional month that the codes are
submitted in, but are eligible for the Grand Prize drawing following the end of the promotion
period on June 30, 2017. To be eligible for the current month’s promotional draw, eligible,
non-winning Scratchers and all eligible SuperLotto Plus 2nd Chance codes must be
submitted by the last day of the promotional month at 11:59 pm or else it will be eligible for
the following month’s promotional draw. For each submission during the promotional
period, eligible, non-winning Scratchers and all eligible SuperLotto Plus 2nd Chance

codes will be entered into the regular weekly drawings, the promotional monthly
drawings and the promotional Grand Prize drawing.
Q: When will the promotional monthly and Grand Prize drawings occur?
A: The promotional monthly draws will occur within fifteen (15) days after the end of each
promotion month from January 2017 to June 2017. The Grand Prize drawing will occur
within fifteen (15) days from the last promotional deadline on June 30, 2017 and will take
place in accordance with Lottery Regulations and procedures.
TICKET AND SUBMISSION QUESTIONS
Q: What Scratchers tickets are eligible for the California Adventure 2nd Chance
Promotion?
A: Eligible, non-winning $1, $2, $3 and $5 Scratchers that are on sale during the promotional
period from January 1, 2017 through June 30, 2017 can be entered into the California
Adventure 2nd Chance Promotion. Visit Scratchers Games to view the $1, $2, $3 and $5
Scratchers tickets that are currently available or stop by your local Lottery retailer.
In addition, $1, $2, $3 and $5 Scratchers that are no longer on sale BUT have not passed the
2nd Chance entry deadline can be entered into the promotion. Visit End of Game Info for

Q: What SuperLotto Plus tickets are eligible for the California Adventure 2nd Chance
Promotion?
A: All eligible SuperLotto Plus tickets that have not expired can be entered into the California
Adventure 2nd Chance Promotion. Visit SuperLotto Plus 2nd Chance for more information.
Q: How many entries do players receive for each 2nd Chance code that is submitted
during the California Adventure 2nd Chance Promotion?
A: Players will receive one (1) entry for every $1.00 spent on Scratchers and SuperLotto Plus
purchases.
Q: Can players enter 2nd Chance codes for both Scratchers and SuperLotto Plus every
month?
A: Yes. Players can participate in both promotions by submitting eligible, non-winning $1, $2,
$3 and $5 Scratchers and all eligible SuperLotto Plus 2nd Chance codes into the
corresponding promotions. Submissions are limited based on the Lottery’s Submission
Limitation Policy. Players may not enter more than 500 code submissions for 2nd Chance
per calendar month.

Q: What are the tax responsibilities for players who win prize packages?
A: The winner will be responsible for paying any taxes on the value of the Prize Package above
the 25% Federal tax withholding included with the Prize Package. All Prize Packages will be
subject to a 25% Federal tax withholding – anything above the 25% Federal tax withholding,
including any increase in the Prize Winner’s income tax bracket, will be the responsibility of
the Prize Winner. The Lottery, MDI, or any other vendors associated with the Prize Package
are not responsible for any additional taxes incurred by the Prize Winner as a result from

winning this Prize Package. Prize Winners should consult with their tax professional for
further clarification on tax responsibilities.
Q: Can players win more than one prize in each promotional monthly draw for Scratchers
and SuperLotto Plus?
A: No. Players may not win more than one prize in any promotional monthly
drawing. Winning a Prize Package in one promotional month does not disqualify players
from the standard weekly draws, any promotional Prize Package drawings in upcoming
months or the Grand Prize drawing.
Q: Are players eligible for both the promotional monthly draws and the Grand Prize
draw?
A: Yes. Wining a Prize Package in one promotional month does not disqualify players from the
Grand Prize drawing at the end of the promotional period. Please keep in mind that players
may not win more than one Prize Package in any drawing.
Q: Are any Prize Packages in the California Adventure 2nd Chance Promotion
transferable?
A: Yes. Prize Packages are transferrable in their entirety to immediate family members, who are
at least eighteen (18) years of age, including spouses, parents and grandparents, children and
grandchildren, brothers and sisters, mothers-in-law and fathers-in-law, brothers-in-law and
sisters-in-law, daughters-in-law and sons-in-law. Adopted, half, and step family members are
also included in immediate family. Transfers must occur before the trip is booked and only
one transfer is permitted per Prize Package. Prize Packages that are transferred must be
booked and the trip taken within:


Eighteen (18) months from the “Winners Posted By Date” on the California Lottery
website for monthly Prize Packages;
Thirty-six months (36) from the “Winners Posted By Date” on the California Lottery
website for the Grand Prize Packages.
Q: Is there a cash option in the California Adventure 2nd Chance Promotion?
A: No. There are no cash options, but Prize Packages are transferrable in their entirety to
immediate family members, who are at least eighteen (18) years of age, including spouses,
parents and grandparents, children and grandchildren, brothers and sisters, mothers-in-law
and fathers-in-law, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, daughters-in-law and sons-in-law.
Adopted, half, and step family members are also included in immediate family.
Q: Can minors be a guest for any of the California Adventure 2nd Chance Promotion
prize packages?
A: The Lottery will not enforce age limits for Travel Companions that Prize Winners select as
their guests for the Prize Packages; however, if the Travel Companion is a minor, the Prize
Winner (A) must be the parent or legal guardian of such guest, or (B) must present a
notarized, written consent from the minor’s parent or legal guardian for the minor guest to
accompany the Prize Winner on the trip. Some music festivals, food tour vendors or other
service providers may impose a minimum age limit or require a legal guardian be present, so
Prize Winners will be mandated to comply with such age requirements, where applicable.

WINNER INFORMATION AND CLAIM QUESTIONS
Q: How does a player know if he/she has won?
A: The Prize Winner will be posted on the Lottery’s website within fifteen (15) calendar days
after the draw. An “important email” notification will also alert the Prize Winner to log into
their account. In the California Adventure 2nd Chance Promotion, only the person identified
by name as the Prize Winner on the Lottery website at the time the Prize Winner’s name is
posted may claim the Prize Package from the Lottery.
Q: How do players claim their prize?
A: To claim the Prize Package, follow the steps in the Claim Process to complete the form.
Prize Packages must be booked and the trip taken according to the time-frames below:


Eighteen (18) months from the “Winners Posted By Date” on the California Lottery
website for monthly Prize Packages;
Thirty-six months (36) from the “Winners Posted By Date” on the California Lottery
website for the Grand Prize Packages.
In the event Prize Packages are unclaimed within the above timeframe, Prize Winners and/or
transferees will waive all rights to the Prize Package.
Q: What happens if the Prize Package is not claimed within 180 days from the “Winners
Posted By” date?
A: If the Prize Winner fails to claim his/her Prize Package within one hundred eighty (180) days
from the “Winners Posted By” date, the player will waive all rights to the Prize Package.
