Formal assessment in Football only is exemplified. © Crown 2010 Exemplar for internal assessment resource Physical Education 1.3A for Achievement Standard 90964 Grade Boundary: Low Excellence 1. The student consistently demonstrates high quality movement in all categories of game play. The student self-assessment evidence is used as additional evidence for teachers’ borderline evidence of angles and timing. This is a Low Excellence. © Crown 2010 Exemplar for internal assessment resource Physical Education 1.3A for Achievement Standard 90964 Grade Boundary: High Merit 2. Teacher records show that the student has consistently demonstrated high quality movement in the area of ‘defensive skills’. Aspects of high quality movement have been demonstrated in ‘movement off the ball’, ‘ball skills’ and ‘offensive skills’ but these are not always consistent. Teacher feedback indicates that demonstration of high skill level is dependant on the quality of the opposition. Contribution to team play is consistent. The evidence shows that this is a High Merit performance. © Crown 2010 Exemplar for internal assessment resource Physical Education 1.3A for Achievement Standard 90964 Grade Boundary: Low Merit 3. The teacher records for consistent demonstration of quality movement of skills/strategies for ‘movement off the ball’ and ‘offensive skills’ are borderline. The teacher has used student self-assessment evidence to help confirm judgement of Low Merit overall. A solid Merit may be teacher records showing clear evidence of consistency of demonstration in all game play categories in football. (The student self-assessment sheet has been included). © Crown 2010 Exemplar for internal assessment resource Physical Education 1.3A for Achievement Standard 90964 Grade Boundary: High Achieved 4. The student consistently demonstrated quality movement of the skills/strategies required to achieve with Merit for ‘movement off the ball’. They consistently demonstrate high quality movement in ‘team play and contribution’. Aspects of skills/strategies required for Merit are at times demonstrated in ‘ball skills’ and ‘offensive skills’ but are not consistent. Demonstration in ‘defensive skills’ is at Achieve level. With more consistent demonstration of using a variety of passes, effective tackling, positional play awareness and accuracy on attack the student would achieve with Merit. The evidence supports that this is a High Achieve. © Crown 2010 Exemplar for internal assessment resource Physical Education 1.3A for Achievement Standard 90964 Grade Boundary: Low Achieved 5. The student has clearly demonstrated quality movement in performance of football skills and strategies in 3 of the 5 game play categories. Teacher records/comments show that evidence has been collected in both drill/skill and applied settings. Where the teacher evidence is borderline (‘ball skills’ – passing accuracy, and ‘offensive skills’ – passing with power and accuracy) the teacher has used evidence from student self-assessment to help confirm a judgement of Achieve. (The student self-assessment sheet has been included in this exemplar). There is sufficient evidence overall to support a Low Achieve. A solid Achieve would require clear collected evidence to support quality movement in all game play categories. © Crown 2010 Exemplar for internal assessment resource Physical Education 1.3A for Achievement Standard 90964 Grade Boundary: High Not Achieved 6. The student has demonstrated quality movement in some of the skills and strategies involved in ‘movement off the ball’ and ‘ball skills’ where observations have been made by the teacher on a number of occasions. Skills and strategies are lacking in quality for ‘defensive skills’ and ‘offensive skills’ where teacher comments relay that accuracy and anticipation are limited. The student evidence is not at the required standard for ‘team play’ and teacher comments confirm this. Final comments are accurate that the student does show potential in many of the game play categories (therefore High Not Achieved) but overall there is insufficient evidence that quality movement has been demonstrated in football performance. © Crown 2010
