Xi Lambda Chapter STTI Scholarly Activity Award
This $500 award is given to recognize a Xi Lambda member who pursues a scholarly activity.
Criteria






Must be an active participating Xi Lambda member for minimum of 2 years within the last 5
years of membership
Award recipient must be attending a health care conference or workshop. Preference will be
given to members who will be attending a conference/workshop hosted by STTI.
Completion of application form that can be downloaded from

Concise CV containing academic background, work experience, memberships and involvement
in nursing organizations, awards/credentials, and contributions such as publications,
presentations, and involvement with Xi Lambda Chapter.
250 word (maximum) proposal that includes an overview of the educational session and how
the attendance at the educational session will advance the applicant’s nursing practice.
Additional information should include: 1) if the applicant is a speaker at the educational session,
and 2) if additional funding has be requested or secured.
Include a brief budget, in Canadian funds, that identifies how the monies will be used i.e. travel,
registration, or accommodation.
Terms and Conditions





Receipt of funds is conditional upon recipient forwarding applicable receipts and certificate of
attendance.
The successful recipient is strongly encouraged to attend a Xi Lambda meeting to personally
receive the award.
One page report is to be submitted to the Executive of Xi Lambda Chapter within 3 months of
attendance of the educational session to highlight how the award has assisted the recipient to
advance their nursing practice. Excerpts from the report may be published on the Chapter
webpage.
