Example Peer Feedback Sheet (2) - ICSK-L2

Exercise 6 CSK-L2 – Taped Transcript of skills session
Instructions
Background
Facilitator begins a group discussion around the purpose of the recorded skills session
and what tutors think are the pros and cons of the activity. Also facilitate a discussion on
how candidates could record the session, reflecting on ethical considerations and how
these could be managed. E.g. recording via phones, tablets etc.
Tutors are then invited to think of how this activity can inform the learning outcomes
and assessment criteria of the qualification in a meaningful way. The facilitator writes
the suggestions on a flip chart, ensuring the following are covered.
Candidate can transcribe the tape and then reflect on their practice and identify skills used,
empathic understanding, safety, boundaries etc. and also areas for growth and development.
Candidates have time to reflect on why they responded the way they did e.g. how they were feeling
at the time in relation to the topic, helpee etc.
Candidate can incorporate feedback from tutor and peers into a review, either accepting or rejecting
the feedback and qualifying their decisions.
Facilitator provides delegates with example taped transcript and invite them to assess and
provide feedback using the new tutor support doc.
Facilitator gives out same transcript with example tutor feedback and initiates a whole
group discussion to compare each other’s feedback and assessment decisions.
At the end of this activity the facilitator can clarify assessment and verification
requirements of this activity in that the taped recording itself does not have to be kept
with the candidate portfolio. The transcript and tutor and peer feedback is adequate and
sufficient evidence.
