TEAM INFORMATION SHEET Competition Format Teams will play in a monthly round robin 5-a-side competition once a month on the following dates: 4th March 2015 1st April 2015 3rd June 2015 These dates are to be known as competition days. Teams are free to choose which dates they attend. Who can enter? Entries are welcome from any female teams aged 16+. University, College and Workplaces teams are encouraged to enter as well as Army and RAF teams. Priority will be given to Royal Navy teams/personnel. Venue The competition will be played on a 3G 5-a-side pitch at Goals Soccer Centre, Portsmouth. Timings The competition will run from 3pm until approximately 5.30pm on each competition date. Squads Squads are to consist of a maximum of 8 (players). Cost Teams will be required to pay £10 per team per competition date. This must be paid on arrival at the venue. Team Sheets Teams will be asked to complete a team sheet prior to each competition day and hand this in before their first game. A team sheet will be sent to those competing, once entries have been received. Fixtures and Results Fixtures will be given to teams at each competition day. Results will be listed on the RNFA website. A link to the website page will be distributed once entries have been received. Rules The competition will be played under the FA’s Small Sided regulations. Number of Players a. Teams must have no more than 5 players on the pitch, one of which must include a goalkeeper. b. A team may nominate no more than three substitutes with the number of substitutions made during a match being unlimited. Time The duration of all games shall be as per the order of play. General Playing Rules a. There shall be no offside. b. Pass Backs: The Player receiving the ball may not return the ball directly to the goalkeeper – the ball must first make contact with another team mate or an opponent. c. Goalkeepers are allowed to pick up the ball from a pass back. d. Direct free kicks will be awarded to the opposing team if a player commits any one of a number of fouls as per FA Small Sided regulations. e. Opposing players must retreat 2 metres away from the ball at free kicks. f. Only the defending goalkeeper is allowed in the semi-circle goal areas. Infringement of this rule by defenders will result in a penalty kick to the attacking team. Infringement of this rule by attackers will result in a free kick to the defenders, 1 metre outside the area. Referees shall distinguish between accidental and deliberate entry. g. If a goalkeeper leaves the penalty area a penalty kick is awarded. h. Penalty kicks – one step only. i. No sliding tackles or shoulder charges will be allowed. Infringements of this rule will result in a direct free kick to the opposition. Where, in the referee’s opinion there is ongoing abuse of this rule, it may result in players receiving a blue card. Discipline a. A referee may make use of a temporary suspension from play for players that pose a danger to themselves or others. The options for a match official imposing disciplinary sanctions are therefore: Player shown a blue card and temporarily suspended from play. The period of timed suspension should be two minutes. Player issued with a second blue card and permanently excluded from play. Player issued with a red card and permanently excluded from play. b. A player who has been sent off may not take any further part in the match and may be subject to further suspension at the discretion of the competition management team. The referee may also refer the matter to the RNFA for processing if they feel this is necessary. c. A match should not be considered valid if more than two players (permanently) reduce the playing strength of either team. Points Points will be awarded for the league stage as follows: a. b. c. Win Draw Loss 3 Points 1 Points 0 Points League Placings In the event of teams being level on points after the league stage, the final positions will be decided by a) goal difference b) number of goals scored c) the match result between the two teams tied and then c) penalty shoot-out. Power Points To reward those teams who attend the most events, Power Points will be awarded. Teams gain Power Points based on their league placing on each competition day. The team with the most Power Points after all three competition days will be declared the winners of the competition. Prizes A £25 Love2Shop voucher will be awarded to each player of the winning team. Officials Officials will be provided by the RNFA. Medical All teams are required to provide their own pitch side First Aid. Refreshments Team managers are to ensure they provide water bottles for their team, to keep players hydrated throughout the competition. Changing Facilities Changing facilities will be provided for all teams pre and post event. Players are reminded not to leave valuables in an unsecure place. Kit/Equipment a. Each team will be provided with T-Shirts for the competition. It is expected that teams wear these t-shirts to each competition day they are attending. b. The RNFA will provide match balls. c. A player must not use equipment or wear anything that is dangerous to him/her or another player. Players must wear shinguards.
