Two-Person “RYDER CUP” (Texas Scramble) (9-9-9)
27-Holes EACH DAY!!

Saturday & Sunday, AUGUST 27 & 28, 2016
USGA Rules Apply, except modified by the following.
Today we are playing a “RYDER CUP” (“Texas Scramble”). This event is 27 holes long and broken into three
different 9-hole formats. First 9-holes will be SCRAMBLE. Second 9-holes will be BEST BALL (with handicap for
that 9). Third 9-holes will be TRUE Alternate Shot.
Men’s Tees will be BLACK (Scramble)– BLUE (Best Ball) – BLUE (Alternate Shot).
(Rule of 90 WILL be applied to this event. - Tournament Committee.)
Rule of 90 Tees will be Blue– Gold– Gold, for those who qualify. (Age + Blue/Black handicap = 90+.)
You have received THREE separate scorecards, one for each format, each day. Please fill out your card in full for
that format, before turning your card in. Play a full 9-holes for each format.
Order of Play Is… 9-holes Scramble, 9-holes Best Ball, 9-holes TRUE Alternate Shot. (MUST be in that order.)
SCRAMBLE: Each player hits their shot and the best shot is chosen, this is repeated for the hole until the ball is
holed. You may move your ball one club length no nearer to the hole from its original position. You must stay
within the cut the chosen ball lays. In rough, stay in rough, fairway, stay in fairway, etc. Hazards and bunkers,
the original ball selected is played first and then the lie is re-created, as close as possible, for the second player.
Tap-ins on the green ARE allowed, but the person tapping the ball into the hole MUST make the putt or the
second player forfeits their attempt. (SCRAMBLE portion of the event will be handicapped via computer program,
taking both players GHIN Index and putting it into an on-line calculation program.)
BEST BALL: Best NET score is selected between the two players for each hole played. Handicap “dots” are
marked on the scorecard ahead of time. Hole-out ALL PUTTS for the ball that is to count. NO “GIMMIES”!!!!
ALTERNATE SHOT: Team MUST select ONE player of the two to start by teeing off. If “Player A” tees off,
“Player B” hits the second shot, and this is repeated until the ball is holed. If “Player B” holes out the putt,
“Player A” hits the tee ball on the next hole; if “Player A” holes out the putt, then “Player B” hits the tee shot on
the next hole. (The Alternate Shot portion of the Tournament will not be handicapped.)
Burger Basket is Included at the end of EACH Tournament Day, Saturday & Sunday.
Skins are cash. Skins game is per flight. SKINS RUN BOTH DAYS – Saturday & Sunday!!
(Best Ball Skins are Best NET ball counting to team score.)
Tournament purse is Pro Shop Merchandise. Other than 1 st place, all other ties will be split.
To break Tie for First place (only) Ties for first will be based on #1 handicap hole forward through the SCRAMBLE
format of the event, if still tied after that, we’ll go to the #1 handicap hole on BEST BALL, and then to ALTERNATE
SHOT, if necessary.
Auction Purse and Pro Shop Purse are for TWO Day Score Total, Sat. & Sun.
Para-mutual betting EACH DAY! (Ties are broken by tie breaker holes set by Ross Harrison’s Program.)
MINIMUM of TWO (2) FLIGHTS for this event. (Three (3) Flights if enough entries.)
DROP AREAS on the golf course ARE available and IN PLAY if they are needed. (Holes #4 and #8.)
GROUND UNDER REPAIR areas are marked in WHITE PAINT.
Water Hazards are marked in YELLOW.
Lateral Water Hazards are marked in RED.
