This document provides information about the process that will be undertaken
during 2017 to copy content from Moodle into Canvas sites, the associated timelines,
and support available.

Flex periods
Units offered in flex periods will be copied from Moodle into Canvas on a case-by-case basis in consultation with the unit
convener.
Non-teaching sites
Non-teaching sites will be copied into Canvas on a case-by-case basis in consultation with the site owner.
SUPPORT CATALOGUE
The support catalogue details support options available to faculties and others.
These will be offered centrally and scheduled, but can also be offered in-faculty or to discipline or course groups as needed.
The support is focused on supporting the migration from Moodle to Canvas.
Other education-related support will be provided as part of the Teaching Excellence project.
The support sprints are focused around the export Stages dates (end July, end August, end October, then through November
and December, January and February).
The Support Catalogue offerings include:

Scheduled sessions (Strand 1, Strand 2 and/or as required by a faculty/group)
Drop-in sessions (in The SHED commencing in August)
Roaming drop-ins (in the faculties commencing August)

CHANGES IN TOOLS AND PRACTICE IN CANVAS
In most cases where you have used a tool or function in Moodle there is a Canvas equivalent (see the equivalency table
below), or there is a way of performing the same function in Canvas with a different approach.
Some content from Moodle sites will not be copied to Canvas as it will not copy across from a technical perspective and/or
there is no exact equivalent in Canvas.
Some content that is copied will not be copied perfectly and will need to be reviewed and reformatted. Staff should expect to
have to recreate parts of their teaching sites in Canvas. Support is available to assist (see above).
