The Timetabling Course

EDUCATION MANAGEMENT SERVICES
The Timetabling Course*
Presented by
Mervyn Wakefield
This three-day course is designed for senior and middle managers who need to understand the process by which
the timetable is constructed.
This practical course is aimed at delegates who need to understand the timetabling process. It is suitable for
those who have constructed a timetable but have no formal training. It will also be suitable for delegates who may
be shadowing the timetabler in their school, or for those wishing to become timetablers in the future.
Each year this course also gives novices the confidence they need to tackle their first timetable!
Course members will work through the techniques needed to move from the curriculum plan to a finished
timetable. The emphasis is on understanding the processes and techniques needed for the successful
construction of the timetable, whether or not a computer is to be used during the scheduling stage. A computer
program (TimeTabler) will be available for course members to explore if they wish.
