AN INTRODUCTION TO SPORT AT GLENNIE
CLUB G
Years 7 to 12 compete in Club G sports. These sports are community based and
replaced Wednesday afternoon interschool sports. Club G sports are played
after school and on weekends at various locations throughout Toowoomba.
Club G allows girls and their families to make personal connections with the local
sporting community and to provide them with a high standard of competition,
coaching and venues.
Girls in Year 7 to 12, and their families, wishing to join a Club G sport can “sign on”
at the Club G Sports Muster which is held on the first Friday of Term 1 from 3:15pm
to 5:00pm.
JUNIOR G
Junior G operates for Years 1 to 6 and is similar to our Club G program. We offer
extra sporting activities for girls and their family members beyond those currently
on offer during the school day. Junior G sport is organised through our Junior
School Sports Coordinator Miss Lauren Potter.

SCHOOL REPRESENTATIVE SPORT
Co-ordinated by the Darling Downs Sports Association, these sports can lead
to higher honours where Glennie girls can be selected into Toowoomba District
teams, then into Darling Downs Regional teams and eventually Queensland and
even Australian representative teams.
Most of these sports are completed within the first semester of the school year.
Selection trials mainly take place after school. Girls are informed about these
trials through the Sports section of the Glennie Portal and morning notices
throughout the year. Girls are required to nominate and often have to meet
selection criteria.

GLENNIE REPRESENTATIVE SPORT
These are activities that require the selection of a specialist group of players for
high-quality and high-level sporting tournaments and one-day carnival events.

on player experience, team requirements and dedication to training.
Glennie also fields representative teams in Toowoomba District Swimming, Darling
Downs Cross Country and Toowoomba Athletics competitions throughout the
year. Selections for these teams are completed through our interhouse carnivals
and attendance at training sessions.
