Vocabulary Competition
Each week we will be sharing a different picture with
you to discuss with your child at home. Please talk
about the picture at home and write down any words
that you have used. This is a great chance to teach
your child new words and you could even use a
thesaurus or dictionary to help you.

This week the children have been enjoying the new
Medlock Meals! The children sit in their houses to eat
and the tidiest houses will win points towards the
end of year prize. Each week the tidiest house will
also enjoy the treat of juice on a Friday and the
names of that house will be entered into a Medlock
Meals raffle. The raffle will be held in assembly on a
Monday and prizes include tickets to attractions and
the cinema.
Medlock Meals also has a new queuing system,
which means children are served quicker and can
see clear pictures of meal choices. Medlock Meals
also has more halal choices. Look out for meal
choices appearing on See-Saw soon too!
Book Review
Each week we will be sharing a book
review of one of our library books. If
you would like to have your own

Rusty's Train Ride
by Heather Amery (Author) and Stephen Cartwright
(illustrator)
This book is from a series of books called Usborne Farmyard
Tales. They are brilliant for sharing with younger children, as
it has simple text for them to read and parts for you to read
to them. The books are all about two children called
Poppy and Sam and their exciting adventures around the
farm. In Rusty's Train Ride, Poppy and Sam visit the steam
train and Rusty, their dog, jumps on to the train. Is he being
naughty or was there something wrong?
Look out for this book in our library, it is particularly good for
nursery, reception or Y1 children.
