Position Vacancy Notice Canberra United Women’s Head Coach – W-League Reporting to: Capital Football Technical Director Department: Performance Location: Deakin, Canberra, Australian Capital Territory The ACT Football Federation (trading as Capital Football) is the governing body for football and futsal in the ACT and surrounding region. Capital Football is comprised of 46 clubs with over 29,000 registered participants including players, coaches, referees and club administrators. PURPOSE OF THIS ROLE To provide leadership, coaching and management to the Canberra United W-League team to ensure success in the W-League. To develop players for the Young Matildas (under 20s) and Matildas teams of the future. To provide advice to the Capital Football Technical Director in respect of technical matters generally. KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY Provide leadership, coaching, management, strategic, tactical and technical direction to the Team. Provide strategic, tactical, technical, and team selection input to the team as requested by CF’s Technical Director. Provide support and advice to other Coaching staff on on‐field matters relating to the team. Analyse matches of opposing teams as part of match preparation. Provide reports to CF’s Technical Director as requested. Monitor the playing, fitness, availability, progress and well‐being of girls playing in the WNPL including Canberra United Academy girl’s teams. Attend all matches, training sessions, camps and meetings of the team. Provide advice and assessment of performances of the team to CF’s Technical Director as requested. Consult with CF’s Technical Director in relation to the technical direction and development of women’s football in the ACT. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND BEHAVIOUR REQUIRED AFC/FFA A License or Pro Diploma Highest level of national and/or international football coaching knowledge and experience. Ability to work successfully with existing team staff in a harmonious atmosphere. Capacity to ensure a committed and united approach within the team. Secondary interaction is with the CEO, Manager of Player Programs and Canberra United Academy coaches as required. Interaction with other high performance coaches and technical leaders of the sport.
