Cost Assurance Consultant

A leading UK Cost Consultancy (PQS firm) is looking to further develop their Cost Assurance service line. This
unit provide assurance to clients who are delivering multi million pound projects on cost reimbursable / target
cost contracts through engaging their supply chain. The team addresses the need to gain assurance or
reimbursed cost by validating it and proactively strengthening controls and improving efficiency using cost data.
This service is innovative and technology driven and rapidly expanding and they are looking for ccareer focused
candidates who are looking to progress their career by taking on responsibility for growing the business and
managing the teams.
Role:
 Ability to understand, analyse and report on complex contracts
 Lead control reviews to assess reporting, financial management and accounting systems used across the
supply chain and suitability of cost collection
 Drive improved controls through designing and implementing system and process improvements
 Designing and implementing risk-based commercial audit plans using CAATs (Computer Aided Audit
Tools)
 Managing challenging stakeholder relationships
 Managing teams
 New business development
 Internal process improvement and development of the service line
Skills& Experience:
Essential
 Qualified / Part Qualified Accountaant

Internal / External Audit experience or
qualification


Strong knowledge & understanding of Risk and
Finaincial Systems & Processes
Strong communicator with developed
presentation skills
Able to explain complex concepts in simple tersm

Proven stakeholder management skills

Desirable:
 Experience of working in a professional
services firm and / or the construction
sector
 Experience of working with complex
contracts in the infrastructure sector –
Water, Transport, Power or Waste
 Experience using audit software: IDEA

Experience of managing or leading teams

