understanding god`s forgiveness

Preparing for the Passover, pt 2
(Exodus 11:1 - 12:13)
ONE MORE PLAGUE
God tells Moses to get ready for the GRAND FINALE. After this final plague,
Pharaoh will finally let the people go.
Additionally, God makes it so that the EGYPTIANS willingly GIVE their gold and
silver away to the Hebrews. After all that God has done, Moses and his people
are now highly esteemed in the sight of the Egyptians.
Moses gives one final WARNING to PHARAOH and leaves from his presence in
great anger, but it is to no avail.
This final plague would be a smack in the face to OSIRIS, the Egyptian god of
death. There would now be no question that the God of Israel is Lord over life
and death.
THE ________________________ LAMB
Each household was to take a one year old male lamb without any __________.
They were to keep it for four days and then kill it at twilight on the 14th day of the
first month. They were to apply the blood of the lamb on their doorposts and
then eat the lamb with unleavened bread and bitter herbs.
The bitter herbs would remind the Israelites of the ___________________ they
endured under the Egyptians. The unleavened bread would remind them of how
they have to leave Egypt in a hurry.
The blood of the lamb would serve a sign of the ___________________ that has
been made for that household. When God sees the blood, He would "pass over"
that house and refrain from striking the firstborn.
___________________ IS OUR PASSOVER LAMB
He is _______________ in every way. He is pure and holy. He is utterly sinless.
(1 Peter 2:22; Hebrews 4:15, 7:26; 2 Corinthians 5:21)
He was declared to be "The _____________ of ______________ who takes
away the sin of the world!" (John 1:29)
The blood of ___________________ could never take away the sins of mankind.
These sacrifices simply pointed to the one and only sacrifice that can wash away
our sins. (Hebrews 9:12-22, 10:1-14; Romans 5:8-9; Ephesians 1:7)
Just as the Israelites had to _____________ in the blood of the lamb to be saved
from God's judgment, so we too must trust in the blood of Christ to be saved from
God's wrath against our sin. (Romans 5:9; 1 Thessalonians 5:9; John 3:36)
