Conferences, Seminars and Workshops
Innovative Driven Entrepreneurship
October 14-16, 2010: Vilnius, Lithuania
This international conference aims to create an environment in HEI and competence of the faculty for the
entrepreneurship education. The conference itself seeks to bring together a critical mass of
entrepreneurship researchers to discuss over critical topics in the field and thus contribute to the HEI
environment and faculty competence development.
The focus of the conference is the relationship between innovation and entrepreneurship as an innovation is
the way in which to do something differently, less costly or better. Therefore, innovation can be seen both
as a thing and as a process of renewal. Innovation must be also seen as the knowledge basis for
entrepreneurship.

Spatial Dynamics in Agro-Food Systems: Implications for Sustainability and
Customer Welfare
October 27-30, 2010: Parma, Italy
In agro-food systems it is possible to observe that many companies have organized their production in
developing countries in order to be more competitive in the global market. This process generates positive
and negative externalities that may affect the welfare of the local population as well the welfare of
consumers and more generally the sustainability of local production systems. On the other hand, local
production systems are competing on the global market by producing specific quality goods or by
producing innovative products.
The seminar aims to focus on different topics which take into account the main factors (economic,
geographic, social, political, technical, cultural etc.) influencing the localization and globalization of food
production and their consequences in terms of sustainability and consumer welfare.

5th International European Forum on System Dynamics and Innovation in
Food Networks
February 14-18, 2011: Innsbruck-Igls, Austria
It is the objective of this Forum to provide an interdisciplinary and creative discussion environment that
generates new ideas for innovative and multidisciplinary research. Its focus is on the analysis of the food
system dynamics and interdependencies; the identification of drivers for sustainable system dynamics in
the decision sphere of the system actors (e.g. chain management, consumers, agencies, policy, etc.); and on
the identification and promotion of potential system innovations.

Evidence-Based Agricultural and Rural Policy Making: Methodological and
Empirical Challenges of Policy Evaluation
February 17-18, 2011: Ancona, Italy
The Seminar focuses on the evaluation of agricultural and rural policies, its methodology and practical
experiences, with specific attention to the challenges raised by new emerging objectives of agricultural and
rural policies in developed countries. Though the Seminar does not limit its focus on the Common
Agricultural Policy (CAP), still both pillars of the CAP and their recent evolution are exemplary of the
need for robust evaluation approaches and promote policy evaluation as a scientific challenge.
The Seminar aims at bringing together papers presenting evaluation approaches suited to investigate
efficiency and effectiveness of policy instruments with respect to their declared objectives. The emphasis
of the Seminar is primarily on methodological and quantitative contributions either presenting relevant
methodological improvements, or dealing with issues encountered in empirical evaluation activities.
