Georgia Gives Day!
National Service Members of Georgia,
If you haven’t heard, Georgia Gives Day inspires individuals to donate to participating nonprofits with the
goal of raising as much money as possible within a 24-hour period. GAgivesday.org makes donating easy by
organizing hundreds of nonprofits across the state onto one website, providing the information people need to
select a cause or charity of their choice, and enabling online donations by credit card or e-check.
We need your help spreading the word and building the buzz before and on the day – together, we can
co-create a fun way to galvanize the public to support local causes and to give where they live.
The Georgia Center for Nonprofits is hosting a competition for all National Service members, and we
want your help!
Here are the rules:
1. Between today (Friday, 11/1) and next Monday
(11/11), hang as many Georgia Gives Day posters
or leave flyers (download here) in as many storefronts in your community as possible. Storefronts
include grocery stores, banks, salons, libraries,
malls, boutiques, restaurants & eateries, dry cleaners, gas stations, etc. For more information about
Georgia Gives Day and participating nonprofits,
2. Get permission from managers and owners to
hang the posters or leave flyers in the storefronts
until November 13th, 2013. Make sure to always
say thank you & smile!
3 Collect the business, company, or storefronts
name and address by filling out the attached form.
If they have social media handles, collect that
information as well.
4. Take fun pictures of you in each location that
we can leverage online in our various social media
channels.
Prizes:
The two individuals with the most businesses on their
list and submit the requisite information and pictures
by Monday, November 11th, 2013 will each win two
roundtrip tickets courtesy of Southwest Airlines!
All other participants will be featured in the Georgia
Gives Day blog with the name of their favorite participating organization.

Georgia Gives Day
A Great Opportunity for
National Service Members!
What is it? A flashmob of giving! A statewide day
of giving to support the important work and impact
that nonprofits make in local communities.
Georgia Gives Day is an opportunity for people
to find a cause that matters to them and give where
they live. The day does not support any specific
cause; rather it engages the public through a collaborative campaign to support any cause they
choose. Through a highly searchable database of
nonprofits across the state on Gagivesday.org, citizens can key in an array of search terms, including
type of cause, zip code, city, or nonprofit name and
receive a list of nonprofit profiles from which they
can learn more and give to directly. 100% of every
donation goes directly to the nonprofit.
How Can National Service Members Get
Involved?

opportunity to support your sponsor organization
