1. Review the process to create a dichotomous key using EdPuzzle and
answer the questions for the video

2. Next create your own dichotomous key on you papers using the minerals
from the lab.
3. Once you are finished, collaborate with your group and decide together
on a group dichotomous key using the educreations app on the ipad.

– Be sure to include pictures in the final classifications of the minerals
4. After you have created your dichotomous key in educreations, record
one of your group members as they describe the path that you would
take as you classify one of your minerals using your dichotomous key.
5. Once you are finished, post your entry onto Mr. Hardy’s blackboard page
under the discussion board tab while signed into one of you
screennames.

A brief history of the mineral
Mineral Characteristics: Streak, luster, cleavage, fracture, color, hardness, any special
properties that the mineral has.
2. Once you’re finished upload your document to blackboard under the
discussion board tab – Mineral presentation.
3. Once your PowerPoint has been uploaded, critique a presentation from
another group that is in a different class. Remember to be specific and
polite in your feedback. After you are finished with your critique, find one
more real world application for that group’s mineral that the original group
did not list in their presentation.
• For your critique, use the rubric that has be given to you. Post the
critique and score as a reply underneath the group’s original post.
Complete the rubric on the paper.
• Include your add-in of the real world application on the rubric as well.
4. Turn in Rubric to the tray when you finish.
