PAT MURRAY APPOINTED NEW GENERAL MANAGER OF CLONTARF GOLF AND BOWLING CLUB Pat Murray has been appointed as the new General Manager of Clontarf Golf and Bowling Club. He will succeed the Club’s current General Manager, Arthur Cahill who will retire at the end of March. Tipperary-born Murray is 45 years old and was General Manager of Kinsale Golf Club from 1998 to 2002 and Limerick Golf Club from 2002 to 2016. Previously he worked in the Accounting and Hospitality sectors. Some of the main areas of his work over the past 20 years involved Financial Management with Budget Planning, Human Resource Management, Account Management and Custom Retention, Strategic Event Planning, Event Management with Catering and Business Operation and Management. Pat is a distinguished international amateur golf. He won the Irish Amateur Close Championship in 2009, joining other illustrious winners of the title who include Rory McIlroy, Padraig Harrington, Darren Clarke and Shane Lowry. He captured the South of Ireland title at Lahinch in 2012 having reached the semi-finals on seven previous occasions. He made his international debut for Ireland in the 1995 Home Internationals and played on the team alongside Padraig Harrington and Clontarf’s Club Professional, Eamonn Brady. Pat was a member of the Irish panel over the next 15 years and last played in the Home Internationals in 2012. He also represented Ireland in the European Team Championship in 2010 and 2011, and has been a regular member of the Munster Interprovincial team. He currently plays off a handicap of plus three. Pat will take up employment at the beginning of March and work alongside our General Manager until his retirement at the end of March.
