The fee per team entry is $50.00 and will include the supply of the only bait to be used during this contest.
Tickets will be available from Maraetai Beach Boat Club during normal office hours as well as on the day, from 0900 to 1000hrs,
prior to the contest briefing.
The tournament is strictly limited to the first 50 teams to register and purchase their ticket. This is a team event – Each vessel
constitutes ONE team regardless of the number of occupants.
NEW RULE: All fishing is to be conducted within the confines of the boundaries specified by the Chart provided to each team.
There is to be no fishing within any marine reserves that may fall within the contest boundaries.

In the event of bad weather, the competition will be postponed to the following Sunday [Sunday 26th March 2017]. The decision to
postpone the event will be made by 0700hrs on 19 March 17. Cancellations will be posted on a black-board at the Custodians Hut,
advised through the MBBC answer-phone service [09-536-6649], and posted on the Club Fishing Section Facebook Page.

Local VHF - channel 64. Chat channel - 6 (Boat to Boat). Emergency - channel 16.
Check in will be from 0900 to 1000hrs, gates will be open during this period for non members fishing this competition. Non members
boats can be launched and retrieved from the MBBC but vehicles and trailers to be parked outside the MBBC. Gates will reopen for non
members to retrieve boats from 1630 to 1730hrs.
At least one member from each team is required to be present at the rules brief to be held at 1000hrs.
There will be two fishing sessions, each one lasting 2.5 hrs.
Each session will start at a designated start line in front of the MBBC, and will be signaled by a countdown and SHOT GUN start. The
finish line is ON the Club Breakwater.
Session One is 1100hrs – 1330hrs, and Session Two is 1400hrs - 1630hrs.
Each team will be issued one (only) x 1kg bag of Frozen Pilchards immediately prior to the start of the First Session. Only this bag of
pilchards is to be used at any time during the First Session.
Each team will be issued one (only) x 1 kg bag of Frozen Squid immediately prior to the start of the Second Session. Only this bag of
squid is to be used during the Second Session. Any pilchard bait left-over from the First Session may be used during the Second Session.
No other lures, burley, attractants, or other forms of bait (including bait flies, fresh bait, and soft baits) are to be used at any time
during this contest.
All fish must be caught by rod and reel or handline. No setlines, spears, traps or nets are to be used to capture fish.
The Tournament [fishing] committee reserves the right to inspect any boat and its equipment at any time during the tournament.
At least one member from each team is to “check in”, at the MBBC weigh station, prior to the end of the First Session (Tickets will be
clipped by the contest warden). Any team not “checking in” by the designated time will be disqualified from the remainder of the
tournament. Entry fees will NOT be refunded. Bait for the second session will be issued as the team ticket is clipped.
All teams must be represented by at least one member of their team, before the second session closes, on the MBBC Break Water,
with the Team Ticket in hand, ready to be clipped by the contest officials not later than 1630hrs.

19. All snapper [presented for weighing in] must measure over 30cm each to qualify as part of the total bin weight.
20. The Club Weigh Station will open at 1600 hours, and will close at 1700 hours. Any Team not represented in the queue by a team
member (with fish and tickets in hand) by 1700hrs will be eliminated from the contest.
21. The Winning Team will be decided by the combined total Bin Weight of all Snapper, per team.
22. Prize giving will commence at approximately 1800hrs at the Maraetai Beach Boat Club (Bottom Bar).
23. Anglers must be present at prize giving to claim any awarded prizes. Any unclaimed prizes may be re-allocated to future contests
organised by the MBBC.
24. If a draw occurs the first recorded catch weighed in will take the prize(s)
25. All guests to MBBC must be accompanied and signed in by a registered and financial member of the MBBC.
26. The weigh master has the final say.
27. All fish entered will remain the property of the angler.
