2017 JAB COMPETITION FORMATS

The formats for the Mike Greer Homes North Canterbury Ltd JAB U11.5, U13, U14.5 , U16
and U18 competitions are advised as below:.
Under 11.5 - 12 teams
Ashley Green, Ashley Blue, Amberley, Hurunui Black, Hurunui Blue, Kaiapoi , Ohoka Red,
Ohoka Black, Oxford, Saracens Red , Saracens Blue, Woodend .
Format: 1. One full round robin, 11 weeks. Winner awarded Simon Developments Cup
2. Teams Split into 3 groups of four teams based on seedings.
Runs 1st July, 8th July, 22nd July, Semi Finals 29th July, Finals 5th August.
(i)
Cup – winner of Grand Final Awarded Rei Simon Cup for 2017. Play a
round robin, (3 weeks), then teams seeded 1,2,3 and 4 play Semi Finals
and Final.

Final - winner of SF 1 v SF 2
(ii) Section 2-Play a round robin, top seeded team be declared winner of Mike
Greer Homes North Canterbury Ltd U11.5 Section 2 Pennant. Seedings matches 29th July.
(iii) Section 3- Play a round robin, top seeded team be declared winner Mike
Greer Homes North Canterbury Ltd U11.5 Section 3 Pennant. Seedings matches 29th July.
Under 13 - 9 teams
Amberley, Ashley, Hurunui, Kaiapoi, Kaikoura, Ohoka, Oxford, Saracens Blue, SaracensWoodend,
Format: 1. One full round robin, 9 weeks. 1st April – 10th June inclusive.
Overall winner of round robin is awarded Peter Hide Memorial Trophy
2. Teams Split into 2 groups, based on round robin seeding.
Group A. Teams seeded 1,3,5,7,9.
Group B. Teams seeded 2,4,6,8
Group A teams play a round robin against Group B teams ( 5 weeks including byes)
17th June, 24th June, 1st July, 8th July, 22nd July .
Semi Finals – 29th July– Group A 1st Seed v Group B 2nd Seed
Group A 2nd Seed v Group B 1st Seed
Winners of each semi final to contest Final on August 9th.
Play Offs 29th July
Group A 3rd Seed v Group B 3rd Seed
Group A 4th Seed v Group B 4th Seed.
Winner of U13 Grand Final awarded the Neville Pickering Trophy.
Under 14.5 - 5 teams
Ashley, Amberley-Hurunui, Kaiapoi, Ohoka, Oxford- Saracens.
Three full rounds (5 weeks each) –15 weeks
Three full round robins commence 1st April last round July 22nd .
Overall winner of awarded John Harris Trophy.
Teams seeded 1,2,3 and 4 play Semi Finals and Final.

SF 1 1 v 4
SF 2 2 v 3
Winners of each semi final to contest Final on August 5th.
Winner of the Final to be awarded the Hugh Patterson Trophy .

Combined U16 Comp to count as well as full round of Nth Cant Games on
